It was quite obvious there was something wrong when he was trying to shut it off, and it just wouldn't, so he put shooot (spl? ) out early, wouldn't do anything, but give a clear indication for someone to help him.

yeah, if your throttle cable jams do you a) sit there and watch car accelerate or b) try clutch and brakes... just makes sense lol so he was effectively putting on the brakes with the 'chute, because the jet engine the wheels just glide it along the floor they dont actually accelerate it as obviously thats done by the big fat turbine

There were some ambulances but didnt seem like they were particularly rushing anywhere.

Only problem with nomex is it shrinks when in flames..

someone made me laugh on another forum, apparently the annoucer said "Its ok we have our trained staff on hand to get the situation under control" as a bloke ran to it with a handheld fire extinguisher

Dont knock it, if you were sat there slowly cooking in your own juices you would be damn thankful for someone running to you with a fire extinguisher.

Takes a lot of guts to pick up that extinguisher and run towards a ball of flames.. Full credit to the Marshall.

Sorry think i worded that badly totally agree with what you guys just said, what i meant was the way he said it was all under control after the 1 guy ran out, tho i guess he just wanted to avoid a mass panic in the crowd
