All it takes for an Ice Age is for yellowstone park to erupt again, which is actually overdue, spewing enough ash and gases into the atmosphere to cause an Ice Age in a matter of a few months.
Dont even need Yellowstone to erupt, we only need a slight change in the gulf stream and the ice age will be here within months
Atlantic conveyer, when that goes the UK will be like the nordic/icelandic regions. About due soon apparantly.

basically no matter what we do, we don't have quite *enough* effect over our own planets systems (can't just pause it), its a forever changing, slightly unstable, chunk of rock with a red hot, slightly unstable centre.
basically the planet will do what it wants to do, we're just along for the ride!
and yes they reckon we are several hundred, or thousand years past when we *should* have had an ice age, and about 10yrs overdue for a massive eruption from one volcano or another.
