What a fun journey to work and back I've had :( No accidents luckily, though there were nearly a few. Getting there wasn't too bad, just a Micra (it's ALWAYS a Micra) sat at the main roundabout in town refusing to pull out until it was completely clear

On the way back, a cyclist on an unlit trunk road with no lights and a very poor reflector, nearly became squished cyclist; Merc pulled out of a side road with squealing tyres in order to get out in front of me instead of waiting for the clear space behind; kids running out in front of the car as I turn in a junction; learner pulls out of a side road straight across in front of me without looking (and the instructor was looking at WHAT at the time?); car behind almost goes into the back of me then honks horn while I'm sat behind a Saxo waiting to turn right into a garage (no room to go round the left).

Did they release a load of people from the local nuthouse today? :(

got to say there was A LOT of learners on the road yesterday! (monday) on my way to workington, I had so many near miss's that I took a different route home (where the learners usually don't go, but guess what, chock a blok with them!).

not against learners, just against taking kids out that have never been in a car before STRAIGHt onto public roads where they are a liability to everything on or near them!

Red Micra losing control coming in opposite direction on a 60 road when I was driving the Tipo... Seriously thought I was going to be killed that time. No time to brake just had to swerve as far left as I dared and hope it was far enough. Glad on that occasion I was in the tipo.. Don't think the Marea would have accepted being thrown around at that speed.

I had an Audi A6 sat right on my arse in pissing rain on the motorway, if I'd had to brake then he'd have raped the back of the cinq. Then I had some random old guy weaving around everywhere in a Mini. Scary stuff these old folks!

That is a good point, there should be compulsory basic training like we have on the bikes, boy was I against it when it came out ,even though I had my license, now I can see how important CBT is.

was that the one with the nun that did a uturn on a dual carrige way:confused:

TOTALLY forgot.

Got collared by police again today,
had the punto piled high with uni gear (riding right low on suspension, but not as bad as just two passengers:confused: ).

this white 407 idled past me (I was doing 60 on the A69 to hexham) I had to brake to let the fecker back infront of me as there was a truck going the other way, so I flashed him for being a dick (it said police driver training on the boot, but that still doesn't allow him to endanger people for no reason).

SO THEN WHAT, he pulls me over and gives me a lecture on how police should rule the roads and everyone else can feck right off, threatened me with a producer but wormed out of it (all my doc's back at home, and I'm not intending to go home for months yet).

eventually got rid of him and let me on my way,
oh and he tried to make me pull over on a slip road right next to a speed camera (where everyone brakes and weaves all over the shop), very dangerous place to stop me, so I pulled past him and drove 100m down the side road and pulled over.
He came roaring round the corner sirens blazing and gave me a slanging match, saying I HAVE TO stop where THEY want me to stop.

But as far as I remember from the highway code I have the right to continue moving until I have reached a location that I DEAM SAFE.
if I had stopped my car and all my worthy possesions in th whole wide world could have been wiped out by a weaving 32tonne artic, which would have wiped otu their shiny unmarked police car and probably killed someone.

SO YES I had a great day too(n)
I hate traffic police and everything they stand for.
MORE VOSA traffic police (big 4x4's and estate cars with BLACK and Yellow reflective bits) as they are much more usefull (i.e check documents electronically and stop the scallies without any rather than stopping everyone), they also attend to accidents quicker than most police and assist motorists stuck on teh hard shoulder (will give you a lift to nearest yellow phone box or OFF the motorway alltogehter if its not safe which is a good thing).
they helped us out in July when the taxi broke down (all day it kept braking down), first a mondeo estate came behind us with its lights flashing to warn motorists there are vehicles in hard shoulder, then they radio'd a big 4x4 with flashy lights and an arrow on the back to help us get the thing BACK onto the inside lane of the motorway and escorted us to the nearest service station at 20mph with lights and that.
Felt much safer and we had a good sociable natter at the service station about what we we're doing (driving to the other side of the planet in crap cars:slayer: )

whats the world coming to eh?

Idiot drivers... well that about sums it up. First get two people down a narrow twisty road taking up about 1/4 of my side of the road forcing me onto the verge and bushes. Then on the way back a guy decided that 40mph, which tbh is if anything a little to fast on that stretch of road at night, is to slow and he has to be at least on the speed limit blast past me. Only to find him burred in a hedge about 2 miles down the road with someone else pushed of the road and loads of offside front wing damage. So a quick 20 min errand turns into a hour long errand:(.

Oh boy, i'm glad i am not the only one LOL!

When police pull you over, dont let them think they are scaring you, if it is just what they say is a "routine check" you have nothing to worry about, ive once been pulled over for a routine check (when i first passed, looked well dodgey in my G reg Fiesta!) He started giving me a lecture on how young drivers are dangerous blah, i kindly asked "am i free to go" he started blabbering on about a producer so i said "OK, give me it as i have to go" Technically i dont think they can keep you once your check on the PNC has cleared and they have checked your car.

As for Micras, they are terrible, always dangerous

Poor bugger.

We all start off young, and end up old.

But hey; that's no excuse for crap driving.

Here in Norfolk the test standards are lower to accomodate the inbreeds who often sit at roundabouts in the rush hour waiting for a totally car-free gap: at which point they then begin to wonder if it might, just might, be possible - just possible, to tentatively - oh so tentatively - move ever-so-slightly forwards. They usually decide to wait. Until we are all utterly late for work even though we set out half an hour early to accommodate them!!!!

And they do all drive Micras. Or Fiestas. Or something Korean. Or little Vauxhalls. Or Renaults - all Renaults - God these people are smug - or Skodas.
Or little Volkswagens; ergggh!!!

Sometimes they are very old. I feel sory for very old people, really I do. I'll be there soon. But I won't be driving! I know; I am impatient and intolerant -blahdeeeblah! And I don't give a .....! Driving is a serious business. If they want to pootle about in a pre-Alzheimers state of otherly- awareness - then bugger off to Florida!

Have a nice day....you've got me going, which is not good. Bad, bad, bad person....

Weekends and the school run.....AVOID!!!!!

got to say, school run mums are amoung the worse.

they only come out at that time of day, and cause total mayhem, they park their range rovers (and kia 4x4's for the cheaper mums) in the middle of the road, blocking an already traffic calmed area both directions.

they pull out of junctions only looking one way, or sometimes not looking atall.
they don't know the width of their ENORMOUS, kia picanto:rolleyes: , again blocking both lanes, they can't park, they speed like mofo's in the traffic calmed area that they battled with the council so strongly the year before to protect their little darlings, when its actually THEM causing the kids to get knocked down(n)

They may be 30 something and have 5years + NCB )mainly thanks to minor fender benders and backhanded out of insurance payouts, blooming women!!, but they have proberly only driven 10,000miles in their whole life and in none of that time ventured further than the town limits, so they can't often handle a car at speed, and are totally unaware of other drivers on the road.
so because she's female (not been sexist but its true) and 30 something, and got 5NCB's she gets insurance for her school run 4.4litre supercharged range rover sport, for all of £200 per annum

whilst I, who have been driving for 2years, with 1NCB, and 56,000miles under my belt (inc 13,000 across the world, eastwards where the driving becomes pretty suicdial from Romania onwards (that was just 3days into a 60day journey it became dangerous to be out!!). and never so much as had a bump when parking:slayer: get stung best part of a grand for a group 2 tuna can!!!!

Makes my blood boil!!
BUt whats WORSE is the school run dads!! in their company car tdi, when you look, mirror, indicate manovour, to go around them whilst picking up the brats, they suddenly dump the clutch (kid still hanging onto the door dragging along the ground:cool: ) wait for the turbo to spool on that oil burner then tear off into the distance, leaving you on the opposite side of teh road with oncoming vehicles, in what appears to be (to uneducated onlookers) a street race over the speed bumps in a 20zone.
fecking great(n)

So theres my 2cents.

SCHOOL KIDS SHOULD WALK HOME!!! THE PARENTS ARE TO BLAME!!!!

micras, micras, micras.. i don't get why there's so many of them. they're bland and ugly. and to buy them you need a degree in stupid driving. usually when i have someone doing something, it's a micra.
the other cars i have had major problems with are 2 X red citroen xsara picassos and an old peugeot estate which overtook me in a 30 ( i was actually just above 30) and then braked hard in front of me. almost as though he wanted me to hit him. (n) some people just should not be allowed behind a wheel.
obviously there have been others but these have been the most memorable!

think I got a bit carried away there:p

it was late and someone did that to me yesterday morning when I dropped my little bro off at school (where TDI dad undertakes you as you overtake him:mad: ).

If only my car had a 55mm cannon mounted on the roof:cool:

Today a BMW sort of wobble drifted past me whilst i walked up to ponte park from the roundabout, dropped into 1st or 2nd, drifted round the mini brick roundabout at the park office and booted off back to the main road!
