Not my accident but my brother,

Had his bike parked outside a block of flats, a honda civic reverses and knocks it over the damage to it aint major but with it being the fairing it could wite the bike off if he wanted too.

The problem is that the girl gave the wrong name and address, but he took her reg, hes contacted/reported to the police and they wont do nothing, or confirm where she lives just gave him her real first name, the police have advised that he takes it though his insurance because they will have the details of the girl, but his on my dads business insurance and doesnt want to go down that road because it might affect my dad in the future.

Is their anything or any other way to go from here?

Police didn't want to question why she was giving false details?

No they've given it a accident number and told him to follow it though his insurance, as they will have acces to the car owers details and insurance.

Surely the police should do something.

Its the same as leaving a crime scene i would have thought if your giving false details.

can't really do anything about it unless you go through your insurance. For all they know you could just be trying to get thhis girls address to harass her or something. I know thats not the case but i wouldn't want someone taking my reg number just to get my name and address

They will probably take up the false details with her if and when you make insurance claim

Can see their point really

Yeah totally agree

actually....

if u have the reg / description of the car, u can call the DVLA and ask for an address / name confirmation as you witnessed them leaving the scene of an accident and wish to report them to the police. (my dads done it, if you are stern and convincing with them they can legally give that info to you as it isnt protected by data protection and is publicly available info)

once u have the proper details, you can inform your insurance company who can take it up with the other persons insurance, and even file a report with the police saying she tried to flee the scene of an accident and when questioned gave false details.
