well not sure if any of you have read my post saying i had some bad news about a family member a couple of weeks ago but basically i found there was something seriously wrong with my gran and she was going to be taken into hospital. the doctors had found a tumour on her brain.

she went into hospital soon after and then was transferred to a bigger hospital to await surgery. the good news is the surgery has been so far a success, the surgeon removed as much of the tumour as he felt safe and hopefully tomorrow she will be having the stitches taken out and coming home.

she's not completly in the clear yet, she is awaiting results from analysing the tumour and also some scan results. however, the doctors seem to think that with either chemo or radio therapy they will be able to shrink the rest of the tumour.

sorry for the long post but felt like sharing my news with you all now i have dealt with the initial shock of everything.

a big thanks to those of you who i did tell about the situation for your support

The cake sounds like a good idea, im going to the supermarket for her tuesday get her some nice treats :)

She says she's feeling alot better now apart from a tender head from the op. Most of the symptoms of the tumour have stopped or lightened now so everything is looking good, everyone has to keep there fingers crossed and think positive for her though. :)

Kirsty glad to hear that she's getting stronger.

As before, you know where I am ;)

thanks everyone :)

yeah i saw arcs post but just skim read that

my gran is a tough cookie but things like this shock you because its like everything else you always think it cant happen to you. she has done brill though, well proud of her. :)

My best wishes to your gran for a speedy recovery, and hope that the rest of the tumour remains insignificant. All the best xxx

Weldone to your gran sounds like she is a tough old cookie, she must have a really positive atitude she will fight her way through it :slayer:

Steve

she is a tough cookie, she went through a phase of fearing the worst which was hard to deal with for us all. hopefully she will be coming home today waiting for a phone call.

she is just bored and frustrated with being in hospital. not the happiest ward she is on obviously.

and just realised cake wouldnt be such a bright idea she's diabetic maybe fruit salad instead

thanks for everyones comments.

my gran got sent home today :)

but the doctors said her test results were in conclusive so she will need some more scans and stuff before they decide on treatment for her.

Its good to know she's allowed home.

Keep us updated, hope the results come through pretty soon.

i'm a little confused about everything though. but i think the messages have been jumbled between the nurses and my gran a little.

i guess the best thing is that she is at home now though and am chuffed.

thanks for your comments though. :)
