the turbo & supercharger combo is back

8 seconds, I'd be happy with that, considering it returns a supposed 42 mpg. If they stick that engine in an Ibiza, it could well be a decent candidate for my next car.

Yeah but for that money you could get an Astra T8 with a more economical engine, nearly 200bhp and a 0-60 time of 7 seconds, I know which one I'd choose ;)

38.2mpg...

Most 2 litre cars will get 38mpg. 8 seconds is only 2 seconds faster than my diesel estate

Well I think near enough 170bhp from a 1.4 is impressive, plus the benefits of a turob and supercharger. I doubt a 2.0 could do 42mpg combined, certaintly not if it was mine, my Sporting did an average of 35 mpg!

If I am driving nicely which is the conditions they would get their figures from on the fuel consumption then I can get close to 42mpg combined on my 2.0 Turbo, and I have a 0-60 time of around 5 seconds :p ;)

You wouldn't get 42mpg if you sprinted from 0-60 in 5 seconds regularly thought would you ;) :p ay ay :p But imagine that engine in an Ibiza, it would be properly fast then, Golfs are big and clumsy (n)
