Dear All,
If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that, he or she is a company engineer, or telling that they're checking your mobile line, and you have to press # 90 or #09 or any other number. End this call immediately without pressing any numbers. There is a fraud

company using a device that once you press #90 or #09 they can access your "SIM" card and make calls at your expense. Forward this message to as many friends as you can, to stop it.

All mobile users pay attention if you receive a phone call and your mobile phone displays (XALAN) on the screen don't answer the call,

END THE CALL IMMEDIATELY, if you answer the call, your phone will be infected by a virus..

This virus will erase all IMEI and IMSI information from both your phone and your SIM card, which will make your phone unable to connect with the telephone network. You will have to buy a new phone. This information has been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS PIECE OF INFORMATION TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS
HAVING A MOBILE.

Just got this email forwarded on to me. Is this possible??

@Aldrew: That is one big hoax. No point dwelling on the issue.

There is a Virus that can be transmitted VIA Bluetooth, when you get it, it sends itself to all Blurtooth devices in range. I don't know what it does but if you leave your Bluetooth and go clubbing or to public places you are very likely to get prompts asking if you wish to accept a message from "x"

I get them all the time, If I drive past a bus full of people sometimes I get this message, when clubbing I ge this message, at work and some infected phone carrrying customer is nearby I get this message.

Press No Always.

Further to the first post...

OLD OLD OLD one. pressing #09 or any deriverative i would seriously doubt does anything...

anyways, if it asks you to "forward this to as many people as possible" any e-mail like this should be deleted without reviewing. Thos chain mails are the main reason for the spread of computer diseases and people who respond to them (i get maybe 5 a day from people who feel the need to include me in their mailing lists) need to stop, and use their brains.

This is ********.
This stems from a long time ago when company switchboards were set up so that someone could call in, pretend to be an engineer, and aske the receptionist to press those keys. This would then connect them to a new outside line (hence the 9 for an outside line in there). They could then make calls at the company's expense.
No switchboards have done this for years (as in over 10 years), and how this has got perpetuated into mobiles and viruses I don't know.
But basically, if someone you didn't know phoned you up and asked you to press buttons, you wouldn't do it anyway, would you?

again as said this is nothing, we have something called credit alerts (well at vodafone anyway) which will flag up if excessive use on a sim where it doesnt meet the normal imei user iirc  (y)
Well O2 evidently don't have that, but T-Mobile do.

When someone tried to abuse my credit card details, o2 allowed this 3rd party to not only get a new sim but top it up with 400 quid and use it.
The second they tried to do it with T-Mobile.. Wham, card details blocked, call to my house SIM card stopped and police notified. Thank you T-Mobile (y)
