Janet and John reading books?

My daughter is reading Superdog

I used to love the Famous Five series.

What books did anyone read?

Hmmm, as a child I used to love The Three Investigators, closely followed by Asterisk and Tin-Tin books :D

Then I moved onto Dick Francis :chin: and Wilbur Smith novels - then Tom Clancy........

I can now admit at the age of 33 I probably haven't read a novel in over 10 years

I used to like the Adrian Mole diaries.

Apparently a film is being made of them.... hopefully using Leicester and having a Leicester accent as he was from Leicester (y)

Ah yes, I read the books and watched the TV series - Gian Sammarco, iirc, who played Adrian, was a local lad round these parts :)

Yeah thats right.

I did keep all the books, not sure where they are now tho.

Also watched the TV series.

I posted to this thread just as the forum died, looks like it's gone walkies :(

Like all good 20-somethings I started out on Janet and John, then moved onto Famous Five, Malory Towers, Chalet School, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and Sweet Valley High.

Now I mostly read crime and horror, I have a shockingly large paperback collection :)

Janet & John & any Enid Blyton books came late in the day for me as a boy. Having 7 older brothers I was brought up on suspect magazines under their mattresses. Didn't they realise that the one in the bottom bunk could always see the reading material of the one on top.

john came out the closet and told janet that he was really gay.

jane was so shocked she turned to drink. last i heard she was living in a caravan park, she had 5 kids but was too drunk to remember who their dads were, they all got taken into care. :(

LMAO

Ah that may make interesting reading these days then

How did I know it wasnt going to take long for someone to bring it down to books you dont really have to read, rather look at the pics :p

Then again, spose there are some stories in them  Not that i've ever seen or would know
