looking to purchase an engine stand tomorrow from machine mart for £32, but i have a question.

can the engine be put out on the stand with the fly wheel on?

can it be put out on the stand with the clutch on?

oh and if you know any where that sell one cheaper would be appreciated

whats the point in an engine stand then if you have to take it all off to get it on?

if your is special and can fit an engine with a fly wheel may be

well the clutch is only held on by a few bolts to the flywheel, and the flywheel is only held on by a few bolts too.. why not just take them off?

mine is swivel type one, it bolts into the gearbox to engine mounting bits on the block. For some reason, the tubey bits on it werent the right length, so have been trimmed. it means u can use the std engine > gearbox bolts to hold it on the stand.

if i take the fly wheel off dont i have to get it balanced and that when i put it back on?

why didnt they just make the things longer so you didnt have to take the fly wheel off

some one told me in one of my threads that i should

oh well think ive worked a way around it any way. been to have a look at the one in machine mart and the poles are only 2cm in length, they need to be 2.5 cm to accomidate the fly wheel. however the poles have a hole going from back to front, so i could put some heavy duty rod pole through tap and dye the ends and i have a engine stand to accomidate the fly wheel

how much you looking for yours arc?

£20 ? its heavy so would have to meet half way, but stafford aint far from u is it ?

aint got a clue mate have sat nav for that kind of thing

i couldnt fit it in the car when coming back down from blackpool, had to leave it 100miles further up north. makes no sense to drive up to get it now, better off getting the one from machine mart now i think mate
