I have got a bad habit of leaving my cd payer on sometimes in the car. Usually it's only for a couple of hours, but just out of curiosity does anyone know how long it would take for this to cause the battery to go flat? a.g. would it go flat if i left it on over-night? I know there's a way of getting the cd player to go off automatically when the engine stops but i dnt know how to do it, hence the reason I have this problem..thnx

by mistake i left mine on for 8 hours and the car was as dead as anything.... wouldnt even jump off another car had to get AA out ( how silly did i feel)

i know exactly how you feel, i had a stinking smell coming from my car's fans one day, so i left the fans running without the engine on one day whilst at work, and surprise surprise.....flat battery.....but i guess i was luckier than you i got a jump off my mate's fiesta, what mk punto do you have that it went flat in eight hours? i'm assuming the battery condition would determine how long it would go as well.

how can u keep fans going without engine on hun ?

i know mate mine's isn't usually exactly quiet either, but when im gojng to work i usually cant be arsed with my music loud, but on the road home......thats a different matter....i never forget to turn it off then. only when im at work

but u need to leave key in yes??? sorry if im being dumb.... but why would u leave your keys in your car all day

quite easy....they work if you just turn the electrics on
that suggests you leave your car with the keys in? cool where abouts you live again ;)

your outta luck mate the only reason i left it with the keys on was because it was a private secure car park, where i could see the car.........otherwise....NO CHANCE would i leave it like that.

The first time I met my (now ex) girlfriend the car was left outside with some Chilis album on quietly for most of the day. Emerged what must be a good six hours later to realise what had happened but the battery was fine and the car started as eagerly as normal. And I don't think the batteries on Pandas are Earth-shatteringly large now are they?!

Odd I say, odd.

I have of course been much more careful since.

Admittedly I only have an HU and 4 speakers but I have left mines on for 24hours and the car still starts as normal, get yourself and Exide battery and you should have no probs.
