what cc is it and how many valves?

oh how i laughed when mr chav compared his 1.2 corsas engine specs to my sisters punto 1.2's

corsa 1.2- 45bhp
punto 1.2- 60bhp

so got me wondering how did they do it? getting such low power from a 1.2?

1198cc 16v i think, older models and 1.0 were 12v i think

so a Honda Cubs worth more CC than the punto :chin:

maybe they were made to make the power lower to makes chavs drive slower

engines can be tuned in different ways giving different power bands etc,you dont mention torque plus gearing has to be considered. bhp isnt the be all and end all

corsa is a 1.2 12v isn't it? I don't think there is a 16v version early ones were sohc 8v

if thats the case then your comparing 3 and 4 cyl

sxi 1.2 16v 60bhp
sporting 1.2 16v 86bhp

punto is quicker than my bros corsa,butlower gears on the corsa pull more. corsas also better on fuel.

top speed punto 115. corsa 109

so yes the punto is faster

my uno is as fast as 1.2 corsa's the old ones, never had a chace to race a new one, the 1.2 new clios are no faster than my uno tho IMO very slow for 1.2

Im sure that the 1.2 Corsa with 45bhp isn't fuel injected- same engine they used in the Nova
