.....until you leave feedback for them even though you pay instantly and your part of the deal is done get a big (n) from me. I think it's out of order and lacks respect.

Rant over. :D

Means they are unsure of the product they are selling.....

I always do it, wait till the buyers have left feedback, because then i know they have received item and if there are any problems it can be resolved.

I wouldnt want to leave positive feedback to a seller if i never got the item for example

When I sell stuff on Ebay I used to leave feedback just after payment but I got flamed from a buyer who said my item wasn't new on a positive feedback even though it was so from now on I try to hold off.

I can understand why people leave it till the other has given feedback but it still aint right IMO. For example I have just purchased a tax disk holder, I phoned the guy up and paid by card, very friendly both ways. Now my part of that deal is done, I should be given feedback on that.

It's almost like kids behaviour, saying,

"do you like me ?"

"Oh no, you say first"

"No you first"

Regardless of what feedback the seller is given it surely is only right to tell it how it is.

When I bought the badges for my car off ebay the guy (who incidentaly now uses the forum) gave me feedback as soon as he had the money, it's polite.

I bought some stuff a while back that I paid for at the end of the bidding. Payment went straight through. I didn't receive the goods for 6 weeks because the guy forgot, he left me feedback as soon as he realised his mistake and was very kind in what he said, "patient understaning etc".
When I finally got the goods I was understandably tempted to give him neutral rep, but because of what he'd already said, regardless of what I though about him or what I may say about him, I simply thanked the guy for the quality items.

If only all ebayers could be so understanding then there would be no need for all this "you go first" crap. ;)

Have you ever sold anything off ebay mark?

Because it looks to me like you are looking at it from a buyers perspective only, if you sold something maybe you could see it from the sellers view also

As a buyer i dont leave feedback anyway till i have received item, i wouldnt dream of leaving feedback till i had got the item.

I mean have you left feedback for this tax disc holder? What happens if the item is lost in the post or seller never sends and you left them feedback? Once feedback is left you cant go back on it, i think its better to wait, both as a buyer and a seller.

Totally agree Mark, I leave feedback as soon as I receive payment, the way I see it, if I receive bad feedback after that which isn't deserved then I can follow up reply to it.

I don't see why someone who receives an item not as described should be 'bribed' into leaving +ve feedback.

yeah but that shows beaus attitiude, always looking for an angle.i willbend over backwards for people where i can.i often end up giving info and advice on xbox stuff to buyers and non buyers.
ive been stung before off buyers not leaving any feedback after i have left it. feel dumb chasing them up so one of the reasons i leave it now

Nope, never sold anything on ebay, but my daughter does and leaves feedback on payment.

Your right, I leave feedback once the item is received, which is a good thing and can only be expected that way, after all it's the buyer that has put his/her trust in the seller, handing over money is not something to be done lightly and it takes some trust.

If something is lost in the post then so be it, that can be explained and people are covered for this aren't they?

That's exactly what I'm saying Apple, I wouldn't leave feedback as a buyer until the seller has completed his/her side of the bargain, but as a seller the buyer hands over money and completes their side of this deal immediately.

Look at it this way Mark, I buy something from you, you leave +feedback for me after checkout then I get the item (perfect in everyway etc) but I say nasty sh !t about you with -feedback, yeah you can reply/follow it up but the person reading it isn't going to believe your retort as much IMO cos if I said long delivery you can always say not your fault etc

It's tit for tat but once you have been burned it makes you wary.

I am often tempted to put on my auction listing MORONS ARE BANNED FROM BIDING PLEASE CONTACT ME TO BE TOLD YOU ARE A MORON! You don't know the type of folks that are bidding on your items, I have came across a good few illiterate, ignorant peeps and it buts me off selling sometimes.

I must admit though i dont leave it straight away now, but its only because i sell quite a bit on ebay and im using "seller manager pro" that leaves feedback automatically when its recieved. It just saves me a lot of time.

Up until now i've left feedback when ive got paid by buyers and they usually leave good feedback in return, although I have had a neutral from someone who i left a posative for, cant please everyone i guess :(

Yeah thats understandable Liam Liam,

So all in all it comes down to people being arseholes again doesn't it. Those that are just out to cause as much crap as they can for no reason, ruins it for the honest folk. In a perfect world it should be a simple case of buy an item, seller leaves feedback, recieve an item and leave feedback if it's the goods that you wanted etc, if it's not then the goods should be sent back no questions asked and all feedback can be pulled. I don't know, some people eh

Yeah thats the gen Mark, I've seen people get a negative cos the item they bought didn't arrive for more than a week although they paid by cheque (takes a week to clear!) yeah sounds stupid but it happens.

I found myself chasing people for feedback when I just started Ebay but I'd rather avoid a neg by just leaving no feedback, have done for a couple of items I was unhappy with.

It's hard to argue in the reply bit cos the item listing goes dead after a while and your statement is useless IMO after that happens.

I'm sort everything with sellers and buyers before leaving feedback now i.e. ensuring both parties are satisified.
