Can't see why the www.fiatforum.com wouldn't be legal? You can have a dealer name there

Valid point there H2DaE when I had my body mods done the body shop fitted new plates with their name on there .

Legaly you are only allowed to use a legal font anything else is regarded as a SHOW plate and you use them at your own risk and most number plate makers will tell you just that:)

Ill go hide in my big boot shall i?

pretty sure its only the font that has to stay the same.. I think you can legaly have it 3D and poss with a shadow (not that sure on the shadow though) as long as the font is standard.

Logos are illegal as i know people who have been pulled and fined for them. as for names at the bottom.. i think its fine as nearly every plate has them nowadays and most new cars come with them from the factory.

AFAIK, to be strictly legal you must have the number plate manufacturers details, e.g. name and postcode at the bottom of the plate, or you must have the number plate suppliers details at the bottom (e.g. a dealer).

The legislation regarding number plates is on the DVLA site somewhere..............

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/faq/faq_number_plates.htm#21
:p cheers chaos.

it doesnt mention about the sub title on the DVLA site.. just about logos

The British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the following information: -

The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d)
The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.)
The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to mean a company whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number plates.)
A non-reflective border and the Euro-symbol with the national identification letters are optional additions.
There shall be no other markings or material contained on the number plate.

From the second link I posted.

Beaumont.. here's a thought... why don't you save up for your car, and when YOU have a registered car, buy a number plate for your car, not your sisters... You are busting quite a bit of money on her car and you probably won't even have the chance to drive it??

Just what I been seeing from you, I know i'm pointing out the obvious, and I don't mean to be rude/hard on you, just IMHO I would be saving all the money and telling you sister to shuv the steering wheel that she didn't/doesn't like where the sun doesn't shine.. or just post it to me, not fussed either way ;)

Borders are illegal, as are the badges people put on unless its the 'Euro' one

I'm screwed with mine, going to get some more plates made up bringing the first 'N' in a bit, and also the 'L' so the 14N and DL can still be defined, but theres more gap at the ends. Also my plate reads N14 NDL displaying it as N 14N is also norty :nono: :shakehead:

Got them made here >> http://www.cheapestplates.co.uk
