damned jobsworth traffic wardens.

at work today i park in a space in a side street where i often park.
going aboyt my busuness i see a moped riding traffic warden writing a ticket next to the cinq. now i think maybe ive let the tax run out as its the 'back up' cinq.

go over and say "your not ticketing me are you?" ,yes is the answer i get.
turns out i dared to let a few cm's of tyre touch the yellow line.
now i know by the word of the law its illegally parked but c'mon is this really worthy of a ticket?

a larger car would have more of its body over the yellow line than my ickle cinq does touching it.
ah well i'll just get it paid before it goes up to £60 but it still smarts :(

Next Warden that tickets me, I'm finding out where he parks his moped and Its getting torched.

Standard.

Why? They do a GOOD job...

This warden could have been a little kinder to custard however, but he/she still didn't do anything wrong.

I take it that the warden has photographic evidence that the above traffic infringement occoured?

Some do a good job, but far too many have a 'do as I say, not as I do' attitude. I've seen evidence of tampering with evidence to meet ticketing quotas and traffic wardens parking illegally while they ticket other cars. Well 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Well Last time a mate dropped me to the LEA in camden as a favour, he paid for the meter and set his watch.

2 minutes before the meter was due to expire he went back and found 1 minute left on the meter of paid time but what was on his car??

A Parking Ticket and a Clamp. They must have attached them around 2 minutes earlier.

Cost us £60 between us and a trip to the car pound 5 miles away by underground to pay.

Torched and I don't Give a Fook!

they use digi cams on all tickets now in edinburgh.really is becoming car hell here

Well that is illegal ticketing, not an example of traffic warden's acting as they should, I also hate the idea of a pedophile working as a teacher, however, I wouldn't suggest burning all teachers in case they are one.

Your view is far too generalised and based on a one off experience, not the good that traffic wardens do. Remember, without them, we would probably find it very difficult to drive on the roads OR policemen would be forced to waste their time sorting out parking infringements.

In Manc they use digi cams too I think, see them everywhere around my area, only sad thing about it is that you feel like you have broken a law by parking and paying!

I once forgot to pay in Nottm (after being sacked from my job and going off with everybody to the pub) I remembered and ran back the mile or so in full suit and shoes (my feet hurt so much afterwards!) and was damn lucky I got nothing (left for 45 minutes). You know how stupidly moral I am...well as far as I can remember, I put in the money to cover the minutes I had used and not been caught for lol.

Oh deary me my good sir, its not one off. I too have been ticketed outside my house after Camden dug a HOLE on the ramp to my drive so that I couldnlt enter, then denied the hole was anything to do with them. It very well may have not been but even after I took photo evidence they still harassed me.

I never paid.

Once I got ticketed outside uni, Printer failed upstairs operated by Uni staff causing me to get to my car 2 minutes late. Found a ticket, fair enough I was late so I paid.

a month later I get a letter in the post from westminster demading more money cause they say I never paid the full amount, thats not what your online website told me you thieving bastards.

TORCHED!!!!

So you parked illegally on the road since you couldn't get onto your drive and got a ticket? That's as it should be.

You got a ticket for not returning to your car in time? As it should be

Either you didn't pay enough or the system failed...well not exactly a parking attendent's fault!

If parking wardens didn't exist the roads would be anarchy.

Your right, the uni incident was nothing to do with the Warden, but the other incident, I was OUTSIDE MY HOUSE and had left a Note on my Dash saying that there was a Hole on my drive and I couldn't enter so could you please not ticket me thank you.

Honestly Negotiator, your negotiating skills leave a lot to be desired. Where would you have expected me to put my car... wrap it up neatly place and place it into my pocket and bring it inside?

Hey Trancendental, who are those men in white suits running towards you? :p
OOHH Not again.... *Runs*

You parked illegally and got a ticket, why in the world would you have any way to complain Trance?

At my gfs I usually park infront of her house as it's not a residents only bay, however, often it is full so I don't take it on myself to break the law and park illegally elsewhere (say on double yellows) just because of that, I park 3 minutes walk away.

Just because you can't do what you normally do doesn't give you allowance to break the law!

And the name is ironic....

That genuinely made me laugh

It made the people I work with look at me funnily and couldn't quite grasp what I had done, they didn't know me well enough.

Strictly speaking, having a note doesn't make a blind bit of difference.
