AArrgghhhhh!

I ordered my familys Xmas presents online on the 9th of December. They STILL haven't arrived :bang: Phoned them up and they said CityLink have got the parcel. Apparently it was posted on the 12th but it still isn't here. It's going to be a massive box because there are about 8 different things in it.
One of them was for my sister that I was going to post myself to Bedford so she would get it in time for Xmas - now it's too late
Are CityLink a load of tossers?
I'm going to have to wait til Xmas Eve to see if it arrives or else go on a mad dash on Xmas Eve buying duplicate presents from somewhere, prob the £1 shop as I have no money left now :bang:

Have you got the consignment number of the package so you can track it?? City link are quite bad we use them at work to delivery all our stuff. You sure you havent missed the delivery but they havent carded you?

only to be expectd at this time of year the shear volume of post must be horrific dont worry soon sort its self out {merry christmas HBH]

They deffo haven't 'carded me' ( I like that saying!)
I have had stuff off them before and been out and they carded me but left it next door. The place I ordered off is supposedly phoning CityLink and then phoning me back - but no-one has, and now it's just ringing and ringing I can't get an answer. God damn it.
Do all parcels get consignment numbers - if i get through to the place I can ask for it and track it myself.

City Link ar JUST W**K any time of the year mate, ring up the local depo with the tracking number and just straight ask for the manager and give him the biggest round of ****s possible, the only way i found to deal with them

Yeah all packages have a consignment number and if you ask they should tell you...........then go to http://www.city-link.co.uk/track_parcel/track_parcel.php and track it

You may be able to get the consignment number by contacting the people who actually sent the package, i know i can bring up the numbers of all the packages we send out

i was in woolworths yesterday listenin to a guy sayin he has to do his whole x-mas shoppin in 2 days as amazon.com said his stuff wont get to him in time, 2 days before x-mas

so your not the only one in that boat matey

F*CK! mini update, just rang the place asking why she hadn't phoned me back. She said shes been trying to ring ****tyLink for the last 40 minutes and she can't get through so I asked her for the consignment number and she said she didn't have it and thats what she was ringing them for
Shes going to call me back apparently.

I've done my Xmas shopping online for the last 4 years or so and not had any problems, well nothing this big anyhow.

Hmmmmmmmm................how far away is your local depot? If you went there with some ID showing your address with a second piece of ID as a back up (just in case), they should be able to check the driver covering your area and find your parcel that way. You don't necessarily need the consignment number You can then find out where your parel is

She must have the consignment number, if they have an account with CityLink then they produce their own delivery consignment notes with the tracking number on. The driver signs a receipt against these numbers when he collects the parcels.

Sounds dodgy to me.

I'm in the same boat, not with City Link but I am awaiting some items that were posted on 20/12 and still no sight.

you should be able to just ring up citylink, give your postcode and house number and arrange a delivery?

i had a tailgate come with them, and they didnt even send it out at all, i personally had to phone up and arrange a delivery not so bad for me though cos i wouldnt of been in if they tried to deliver anyway.

royal mail were ok with delivering at xmas though, had a parcel sent yesterday and got here today.

Your lucky then, we've sent stuff out last week by recorded sign for next day delivery with the Post Office, and we've had people phoning up saying they still havent received the stuff

Same, two items sent out on monday and nothing (royal mail first class). Slightly annoying

Just rang City Link and they said they have no jobs whatsoever for my postcode. What the **** is that supposed to mean? My Xmas presents are doomed? If thedoghouse handed them over to CityLink then how come there is no record anywhere?
I can't get through to www.thedoghouse.co.uk where I ordered from and she hasn't rang me back this afternoon whilst I've been out.

So it looks like I'm screwed.

Any suggestions anyone?

Looks like you're going to be in the dog house! Looking at what you have said so far it looks like City Link are fine, its the shop you need to hastle.

Got a telephone number for them?

I won some bits for the car off ebay yesterday and they turned up at 10am this morning having been sent 1st class royal mail. I think it's just luck of the draw atthis time of year.
