Hourses for courses really. Depends what you want. The Nano is really small, the iPod video (I assume you mean that) is bigger (physically and capacity), but does video. Neither is "better", they're just different.

i dont know what to get, the nano is tiny though
instead get an Iriver, as they are just like the Ipod but unlike the Ipod, the Iriver is reliable 
I am listening to my 4gb Nano right now, fantastic, and you can view photos too. In fact, thats the only way I can fill the thing up. Only have about 600 tracks. Best thing was it cost me nowt, gift from work.

Ipod Nano does the same as an ipod photo (is coulour screen, etc) only they have less memory obviously. But they are smaller and lighter, however I'e heard stories of the screens damaging easily. All depends how many tunes you're going to stick on it.
