Thought I'd post this here as I know a lot of us view this thread frequently. Sorry if it should have been in the Tech department.
I'm assembling a list of service "stuff" for our Panda and my Boy's Punto both of which I'll be servicing in the new year. I know this subject has been raised before but I can't find the post I remember so I'll ask here.
Our Panda is a 2010 1.2 Dynamic Eco so has the 60Hp engine without VVT. I find many websites quote 2 different plug specs (which I presume is due to the overlap between the 60Hp and 69Hp engines). I'm further confused by the plug recommendations for the Punto (2012 1.4 8valve with VVT) which is different even to the plug recommended for the almost identical 8 valve 69Hp Panda engine. Not only that but sites seem to differ with some making different recommendations to others!
So I'm wondering if there's anyone on here who can give me "chapter and verse" on what I should be screwing into the Panda and Punto. I'd appreciate it in NGK "speak" as that's what my local factor stocks.
Ps. Just want to saty with "standard" plugs as this car only does about a couple of thousand miles a year. - Just found another ref for the Panda - NGK BKR 5 EZ so that's four different spec plugs in NGK alone now!
PS. I want to just stay with "standard" plugs, not fancy platinum, Iridium etc because this car only does about a couple of thousand miles a year.
I'm feeling very sorry for myself today, sitting surrounded by used paper hankies, with an absolute shocker of a head cold. I'm off now to make up a Lemsip and then I'm going to try Googling for plug manufacturer's catalogues whilst sipping on the drink and feeling sorry for myself!
