I found this on a website. My intials are GR and I drive an HGT. Is there anything better available. It is only about £600.

It's nice but you might not always drive an HGT. Wouldn't you rather a plate that related to you rather than the car?

For £600 I'd want to be taking it to my next car. It's not the sort of car you can add value with a mode related plate.

Best plate I ever saw was on a red chavved up Corsa or was it a Fiesta. The guy obviously had a keen sense of humour. C114RVA with a stud in the 11 so it read CH4RVA

On the way home form work I saw an old metro with a plate that looked like KN0B. I think it may have been K11 LLB but a combination of well placed black screws and filth made it look like KN0B. I was moving fairly rapidly past it but was deeply amused. Don't know if it'd be worth anything, the car sure wasn't!

Saw a Mercedes recently with the plate 1111 A. Or possibly 11 IIA In the '70s there was a Jaguar dealer on Peter St., in Manchester that had some demonstrators with the plates MXJ 53L, XJV 12L, and MXJ 6L which, with a little slightly dodgy placing of figures and the odd carefully positioned screw gave M XJ5.3L XJ V12L and M XJ6L.

edit: I note this plate was bought from DVLA for £3.5K in 1991
