at the end of the day how ever long people argue for they are still going to be moderators who do everything back stage and only answer to Ben and each other

Yep.

As long as there are members posting, there will be a need for moderators.

As has been said, numerous times, if people don't want posts deleting then stay within the T&C.

in any system of democracy, the majority is governed by a selcect group of individuals who's job it is to uphold the law or terms of that society, in turn this group is governed by a leader who's purpose is avoid groupthink situtions ( ie nasa space disaster) and make sure the team are functioning correctly, this is exactly what happens in all democtratic countries and exactly what is happeing here. the way it should be.

.

one would not run riots in the street because they dont like there council tax, similary on here ifs theres a problem one would not go bad mouthing to the full community.
if u have a problem in your country u speak to your mp. on here ask a moderator

xxx

so all people are asking for is a thread only editable by mods to say who was banned, how long for and why?????

I have every confidence the mods make the right decisions. What I am after is the assurance that they approch their roles with consistency. Something that applies to ALL of the moderators.

My last word on the subject.

its all done on personal opinion and then discussed back stage. different people find other things offensive, which is why if you find something offensive you report it.

A democracy as far as I know requires either self-rule (which we don't have) or electable individuals to represent the group (and specific issues) as a whole. Neither of these exist so it's not a democracy. Steve's comment may have been crude and simple but it's true, whether that makes it right or wrong is something for Ben to decide.

I stand by my post. When I logged on and seen this I had a little chuckle to myself.

Get this. This is an internet forum owned by Ben. If he wanted he could pull the plug on it tomorrow and he can choose how it's run. Some people need to think this through. This isn't a democracy, you don't have a right to be here. You are here simply through Ben's good will in setting up and running the site. Ben chooses his moderators and we work as a team, we discuss how things are going and discuss everything before action is taken. Some people need to wake up and smell the coffee.

I expect the moderators and Ben will take a long hard look at this statement and deal with it accordingly. A forum is nothing without it's members and guests and if this is how they are treated then revolt will occur. Possibly the most disrespectful comment within this forum.

That's funny when I signed up originally it said it was a public forum! Do you disagree then that there isn't a mentallity that some members are allowed to say what they please & others aren't? & the last time I looked we live in a democratic society which in my view applies to everything in the UK (or at least it should do).:chin:
