Hi,

I was just wondering how dealerships transport stock between branches particularly if they are nearby. I’m talking about smaller dealerships not nationwide chains who have their own transporters. Would they physically drive the cars ti transport them? For example I’m talking about a dealership where the service department and showroom are located in different parts of town

My Doblo was driven the 100-odd miles between dealers.

I remember years ago, my parents ordered a new car & on the day the new reg was released, they went to the dealer to collect it, only to be told that it had broken down on the motorway whilst being delivered.

For a brief period, I did a bit of car transporting for a local dealer, I would drag a trailer around the country to deliver or collect cars.

One local car dealer seems to have an arrangement with the council whereby they park a lot of their excess cars in a local multi-storey. Every week or so (or so it seems), the transporter parks up outside the car park & the driver goes in to collect each car to load on.
