Considering this to start my very own tool collection. So far I've used the tools of relatives etc which has been great but now I'm thinking it'd be good to start a collection of my own, and as well as working on the Panda maybe even learning some around the house DIY stuff!

This brand seems good, and that seems like a fairly comprehensive set of tools to get started.

Anyone got anything to say in terms of advice / tips?

You generally only need a cheap set of screw drivers and not more than 4 a big Philips and small Philips, a big flat head and a small flat head, that will pretty much do everything you want.

I comprehensive set of metric spanners is a must without gaps from 8mm up to 20/22mm will cover pretty much everything. You can guarantee if you buy a set is will miss out that one spanner you really need.
It's worth spending money on a quality set of spanners that will last.

You need a good hammer.

Pry bars are cheap and needed for any sort of suspension work.

I can understand the want to buy a starter kit but it's worth spending money on some quality bits and slowly build a collection over time

I never thought about it in that way, but I suppose what you say is a more efficient way to do it. It would avoid having some aspects of the kit gathering dust.

I must stress but, it's not just for car jobs but general DIY. Though what you say about adding to it gradually still applies.

I did notice it doesn't come with a hammer?! Mad or what for that price!

I must price up those things you say. Is Draper a decent brand or does this not matter so long as there's some sort of guarantee with it?

I know tools from like Argos won't match the quality of dedicated brands, though I'm not sure if that makes them 'useless' or not, since any tools I use will be on an occasional basis and not professionally where I would lose money over a broken tool. But I would still want reasonable quality all the same

too much crap in these kits too bulk them out. start with ratchet n socket only Clarke pro sets from machine mart, same for spanners. then look at boot sales for extension bars, pry bars, hammers and so on, aldi have a set of screw drives atm that will do fine for most jobs
