I just wanted to know how many do and whether they make use of the policy that if they overcharge you they refund you and give you the product?

i shop with tescos and i do it online

they were late tonight and i phoned about it and they refunded the delivery charge :)

The policy is:

"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product"

i shop in tesco, i dont get anything for nothing :(
somthing that dos my head in is that they dont reduce stuff thats going out of date by much, i go in 10 minuets before its out of date an it still too much i walk around and it goes out of date, they then have loads of out of date stuff on thier shelves

Yeah they do obey it. Went in one week to get some Curry Paste, was 88p. Following week, was £1.40. Usually don't notice it but for some reason I still had the receipts. Double checked both jars, identical. So went back in, grumbled about hike in price although didn't check the shelf price but they gave me £1.40 back!

Dave, basically I could make it so that you could get lots of free items (especially meat (;)) cheese etc.) but also CDs etc.

Tesco HATE people using the policy so you have to be quite confident to go and use it. Works especially well in tescos with scanners so you can check the price before going to the till. If you want to read the threads on it:

Dicussion on it:

Actual items you can save on (obviously ignore all but the last pages!)

Slightly off topic but I once got Tescos to pay me to take stuff away :D

They had packs rolls that were something like 60p each or 2 for £1. The way they worked it out on the computer is one roll = 60p, one roll = 60p, then it shows up as *multisaver* and takes off the 20p.

I found these rolls in the reduced section at the end of the day, they were marked down to 5p. So the till went one roll = 5p, one roll = 5p and *multisaver* -20p. So they opened the till and gave me 10p to take away the rolls :D:D:D

Every little helps :)

Whenever that has happened to me they said it's not policy to give away money but I can have the products for free.

i shop asda it be cheaper and tescos dont stock me fab apple.

bit i liek best about asda that allways makes me laugh is that when you go in they have 2 trolleys of shopping identical stuff one bought at asda one at tescos and they have added it up and asda is allways few quid cheaper but best bit is they have board saying they used tescos online to do the checking :D

Their policy not to give away money? Well then they should have a policy to mark things up properly. Anyway it worked for me, they payed me the money because the reciept came to -10p. I still have it at home.

Yeah, they do have tis, also, if a label isn't clear, they'll give you your money back.

Also reduced items combined with multisavers can give rather impressive savings, I once bought a weeks worth of ready meals for a quid.(y)

The date was up, but freezers are your friend!:)

For the past 4 days or so there has been a mispriced PC...£400 PC for free. I haven't posted it here since it's out of my depth.
