It's been torrential rain all day, already some roads are closed and I've just been to Asda to stock up on essentials and driven back and in the intervening 20 mins the water has gone from a few inches up to headlamp level again in my village, can only imagine what it's like in Carlisle. Again :(

Hmm we have rain now but not much and it's the first we've had for well over a week now.

So does Carlisle always flood when every time it rains for one day? How long has this been going on?! Back home there's no way we'd come close to a flood unless there was days of rainfall...

just started raining here :( i can hear it on the window :(

It was quite nice until about an hour ago. I was playing with my camera.

Christ well up to headlamps sounds pretty dire to me I hope it doesn't reach the houses.

The only time I've driven through that was when one of our main roads turned into a ford, there was no way round it so had to go through. The water was well up the doors at the deepest bit, but loads of people were going through it. I was fine (in a mk1 punto) but a couple didn't make it, one of those little suzukis and to my amusement a Freelander. That'll show him I bet he was going too fast or something. You need land rovers because they are tougher yeah whatever...!

Got called out many years ago to recover a van from a "bit of a flood". Got there and the road was under three feet of water. I had a truck so got lined up to pull her out then realised I had to connect her to the truck (n)
If anyone saw me in my pants fishing for a tow hook in three feet of water then they would have been shocked. The water was very cold. Worst bit was the woman who I was picking up, apparently it had grown two feet in only twenty minutes, (the flood) :D

Awww, want the Coupe to work, because in the rain the aerodynamics make the spray into a nice smooth pattern.
Shame the wipers don't work properly at "higher" speeds  (They struggle to pull the wiper arms back down the windscreen)
