Anybody fancy a debate tonight?

The foxhunting one was very good, reasoned debate without (in the most part) resorting to insults, a welcome change from some sites!

Anyway, if anybody is interested how about these for topics?

1.) Should all firearms be legalised in the UK?

2.) Should the death penalty be re-introduced?

Or should I bugger off cos it's a friday?

1. No, because there is no need for firearms in society, so why risk them causing accidents or being used for crime.

2. No, our law system makes mistakes and it would be ackward to reverse the death penalty on appeal or if new evidence came to light. Look how many convictions have been considered unsafe since DNA tests have been introduced to test old evidence.

The death penalty does not need to be re-introduced. The law states that you can still be issued with it if you commit treason or piracy.

1. Yes lets legalise firearms, then everyone can have a gun and shoot anybody they want

2. Yes lets bring back the death penalty, kill all those parents that were convicted of shaking there babies to death, and then say oops when the court realise they were infact innocent
