Remember me dodgy laptop off ebay? It see4ms that the good folks at PayPal do, and I just got this email from them:

email from paypal said:
Dear Jon Kirk,

We have concluded our investigation of your Buyer Complaint. The details of
this claim are listed below.

We have decided in your favour, and as a result, have attempted to recover
funds from the seller.
The maximum amount we were able to recover was 173.99 GBP. This amount has
been credited to your PayPal account. Please allow up to five working days
for this adjustment to be reflected in your PayPal account.

If you are due any additional amount from the seller, we will make our best
effort to recover the balance from the seller.


If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed

Note that it says no further action is required by me: I still have the laptop, plus the cd-rw drive that he eventially sent me, and I spoke to him on the phone last week when he assured me that the RAM, network card and a new battery would be in the post ASAP... so for all I know they might turn up soon too! And even if not, it would seem that I've effectively got a free laptop... unless anyone can see otherwise??
 
the sensible thing would be to send the laptop back, just incase of any further proceedings being taken. After-all, he will have your address from the transaction, and i doubt they'd be pleased that they've had to give a refund and have not had the equipment back
