Breaking news - B'ham centre evac'ed&controlled explosions

Just been to asda and loads of roads blocked off with armed policeman in 4x4s and volvos, couple of helicopters and policeman everywhere, mobile command centre outside a hotel....

Apparently bomb in a church.....hmm.

A controlled explosion was done on the suspect package I am told and all is well, it wasn't a bomb.

However, what worries me is that it DIDN'T make more than local news, I wonder where else these scares are happening - obviously hush hush to prevent panic.

What, about Nottingham? If you mean B'ham then of course, but I was referring to Nottingham, I can find very little out about it.

I would David :p Where I work though is far too secure (go through an airlock style system!) and where I live is far too quiet and nice.

Yeah I saw that on a program before about the red hats (army police) - a car was left outside and they were very quick to react.

As my Dad said, when the IRA was at full whack there were enough scares to drive you mad. WHen I was little I am told I had to be taken out of the 'pictures' due to a bomb scare but I can't remember that....
