Talking of M4..

When heading back to England opposite the old TAG toll office there are some major bumps in the road.. so I often try to time it so I can be in lane 2.. missing the worst of this 'big dipper'

The vehicle I overtook at this point: a VAG car transporter.. the bumps then triggered the alarm on all 9 cars.

Thought.. do they self.cancel..?

Or does the driver keep all 9 keys within reach..?? ;)

I hate those bumps - our camper van bottoms out through those if I don't back off and use lane 1.

Given how much work they did to remove the booths, you'd have thought they could have flattened them out at the same time.

I vaguely remember seeing Garzweiler in a documentary a few months back about massive machines, the big miners they have there are ridiculous!

Anyone had their windscreen changed lately? My screen has been getting worse with major scratches & chips. Home early & bit the bullet & phoned a well know company. What a fanny about, no local phone number 0800 to head quarters, fair enough. I explained could this be done at my house today or at their depot Thursday or Friday. The chap wasn't interested in that he wanted details. Make of car etc, had to roll off more than a few questions again fair enough, but he kept asking the same questions again & again.

Which felt like a day I'm still trying to hold him to an appointment. Seriously if he had just listened to me about everything he wanted to know, It would have taken a fraction of the time I was experiencing. Lots more questions about wiper blades & safety first....WHAT....:bang: FFS. I'm beginning to wonder is this for real. As a care worker I try to fit this sort of thing between clients, I explained to the chap, yes ,yes, we will get to that in a minute, oh come on.

Eventually Friday at midday. honestly why are things made so hard these :confused:days

Assuming you're talking about Autoglass, would it not have been a hell of a lot quicker to do it on their website?

Erm, I'm at an age where picking up a phone should be a simple matter, being old skool, website would have taken me quite a while. We can't all be up to the minute with puters....;)

Says the man who spends almost every day on here ;)

Websites are cheap, people on the phone cost money, so they frustrate you so much that you'll learn to do it the cheap way next time ;)

Good grief fella, you're not stalking me are you? phone call was an 0800 number so cost me zero, never gave the website a thought;) I come on here from time to time just for a laugh & a bit of craic & just to see what's going on, never get frustrated. Try to relax fella.:D

My bletherings on here are to be taken lightly simple as that..:) If i'm honest I'm probably on here quite a bit these days, I'm sort of semi retired so I'm slowly turning into a bit of a sad old git...:D

Properly fed up. :bang:

I sold the 1976 Suzuki GT750 happy punter etc. Yay!

The ignition was playing up so swapped it back to the old contact breakers with the old wiring. Then while putting it back, I dropped the petrol tank.:cry:

So the sale is off, deposit returned and I have a £500 bill plus how ever long it takes for a repaint. :(

I still have my hair although quite a lot of grey, I'm not saying I'm gods gift to women or anything:D but when I tend to meet some from my past, it's so long ago I think he looks familiar but bald & a fair bit over weight. I once met a chap who I worked with in the oil days, he was a shadow of a man & was on a walking stick & looked a 100. Turned out he was abroad working & met a very young woman, fell in love & he thought this is it for life....:shakehead:

It lasted just a year, her whole family wanted a piece of his earnings, he told me there's no fool like an old fool. He was besotted, but she saw him as a meal ticket. Forgot to mention he was married over here & was told by others she begged him to come home in the early stages, but by the time it all went wrong it was too late, wife took him to the cleaners. Not only was he broke, he landed with MS. I consider myself a lucky man, been happily married now for 43 years..:)
