I'm not sure about this.

Nice colour, loads of effort but why ruin a Panda?

Saw a guy today at the petrol station. Audi A5 or A6, 3 door. All black. Dark alloys. Tinted Windows. It was quite nice, even I admit. He walked away from the pump .. I took a look. He put £5 in. £5.. in a car that must have cost a bloody fortune to buy and maintain.

Made me wonder how many other nice cars have their owners living on a shoestring budget and if they think it's a worthy sacrifice.

Okay, lots of judgement made as to whether or not the situation is as tragic as I make it sound. But if I had to bet on it I'd say yes.. probably is that bad.

£5 petrol doesn't get me impressively far in the Panda so god knows what a 2.7 engine can achieve

Probably a drug dealer - faster to escape police.

Well it's not bird poo at least..

Hmm appears I have a harvest mouse squatter...

Many years ago, whilst coaching a local vet for his advanced test, he saw some horse poo in the road, announced how big the horse was, what colour it was, and how far away. 50yds around the corner, large black horse. Amazing. All to do with quantity, texture and colour.

I'll just stick to recognising cars at night by their lamp shape and position. (Must stay in more)

I'm surprised you can see any shape at all with some of the lights on cars these days. I was followed by a mobile lighthouse the other day. I'm surprised it didn't project an image of my Panda in the sky like a car-shaped version of the 'bat signal'.

Approaching traffic lights in lane three, right turn only, separate control. Just before teh lanes split into three, car behind was 'pushing'. As I moved right, he accelerated to pass, as his lane only goes forward. His lane had a green light, mine a red. I started braking before he was ahead of me, just how it was, presumably he's looking at me instead of ahead and he over-reacted to my slowing and did an emergency stop. Oops! Car behind him gave him a bit of a smack. Bit of a surprise for the following car, the one ahead accelerates towards a green, then stops. Genius.

At that point my lights went green, so I waved him goodbye.

What a shame that the car driver behind the idiot now has to deal with the idiot and insurance etc. Fingers xed they have a dash cam showing the emergency stop for no reason.

The guy behind still takes the blame. Only excuse is if the guy in front did it deliberately e..g crash for cash. Stopping suddenly could get the guy in front a ticket for driving without due care and attention or due consideration for other road users, but driver behind should still be able stop.

Probably should make a call to 101 and put yourself forward as a witness otherwise the poor sod behind him who hit him could take the brunt of an insurance claim, where as, with you as a witness this idiot could find his insurance company won't pay out for his sudden and unnecessary emergency stop at a green light, and the innocent party won't cop the blame

It's a thought, thanks for that, but right now, can't be bothered. Too much stress already. Partner fell off the front step, broken shoulder, so almost helpless. Now realising how much she does, as I've got to do it, plus still working a few days a week. Really don't need more aggro.

Silly stops at traffic lights happen a lot in Swindon. There are several junctions where a filter comes on first, then later the full green, but the filter extinguishes. As a full green means can go, if safe, in all permissible directions, no need for the filter. Most places keep the filter on to avoid confusion, but not Swindon, so frequently people turning in direction of disappearing filter will stop, and get hit by a local who knows he can keep moving.

Another junction in Swindon, near the railway station has lights on the middle and right lanes, but the left lane has no light as it just turns left in a one-way system. Plenty of people stop in the left lane when the middle lane lights are red. So local people should know and keep alert. Where the bump happened, only reason to be in that lane is local knowledge, or being pushy.
