yeah... well, maybe not, last time I checked I was scottih. I'd say maybe not an "old" thing, but I'm not young either. Lets just say not an edinburgh thing, edinburgh always has that posh thing going on, anti-tory stuff probably gets filtered out.

I'm a Borders boy who just happens to have ended up living in Edinburgh. The Glasgow/Edinburgh "thing" puzzles me and I must say I don't understand a lot of what it's all about and I'm probably too old now to care.

I’ve never really noticed any Glasgow Edinburgh animosity, Glasgow has enough issues of its own without the need for anyone else. It’s generally taken as a given the whole east coast is just a bit ****ing weird.

Being a sasenach southener, I can't comment. But, my parents and grandparents generations fought 2 world wars standing shoulder to shoulder with Scotsmen and both of those generations instilled in me a huge respect for all of you north of the border. I have been to many places in Scotland and found folk as good and true as anyone anywhere. Long may we continue together. And I'm far more weird than any of you anyway!

It's really just the rivalry of any neighbours, (going back to our tribal roots) and the hunt for differences between the two.
Edinburgh - Glasgow
Newcastle - Sunderland
Manchester - Liverpool
Etc, etc

In this instance, Glasgow was asserted to be working class, industrial hub of Scotland, with a sense of community and a sense of humour, but rougher.
Edinburgh, was asserted to be the political/financial centre, and as such was 'posher', more genteel, but less community spirited and less sociable/friendly.
I've never met anyone that took it seriously.

In the case of Newcastle vs. Sunderland...there's no rivalry one side is just bitter .

Anyway...was out walking the boy back from nursery through the street tyres on one of the cars caught my eye.

They've run winters all year round for years, tread blocks have torn and are hanging in the breeze. Must be a tad warm then.

Checked the all-seasons, they are happy enough, to be fair probably got the consistency of bubble gum in this heat but not leaning on them to find out.

Russel Brand seems to have developed quite a following. He's seriously upset The Left because he wont take their Cool Aid on pronouns and other such BS.

My nan and grandad had to have their dog put down today. Very sad in itself, but what I find especially sad to think is that when my grandparents got the dog, I hadn't even had my 20th birthday...

Work have sent me a new phone (work mobile) I have never heard of a TCL before but doesn’t seem all terrible, seems to be a budget smart phone you can buy in places like Argos, also made in HongKong (remembering the 80s when everything was made in hongkong) and not China like everything is now.

I literally have no idea on this thing, don’t use and have never gotten on with android, don’t get me wrong I can make calls get online do all the usual stuff with it, but nothing about the function or any of the menus is in anyway intuitive and everything feels clunky and the gui looks like a child’s toy.

I’m not an Apple fan boy I have multiple PCs and much prefer windows, but there is a lot to be said for an iPhone

Depending on how butchered the OS is...global search is your friend. Many companies put a horrific overlay over android.

Swipe up from the middle of the home screen and in the app screen that appears type the app or setting you want to use/adjust.

Much easier than pulling down from the top, hitting the cog etc.etc.etc. until you find what you're looking for.

I used to walk along the street in Hong Kong, as well as all the “Copy watch? Copy handbag?” you’d get, they’d also have copy phones made to look like Apple or Samsung, but that’s where the copy ended, nothing like either, clunky cheap os on them. The price tag of £20 to £40 was also a sign of the quality

i’m sure there were many *cough* quality genuine items….. i remember my brother having a “tag” watch at one point that looked amazing the back was glass you could see all the workings the movement looked fantastic, you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference. till the hands literally fell off and in rattling around knocked the tag logo off the face which all ended up rattling around in the face of the watch…

Seems to be largely un-butchered, looks like a very basic version of android very standard google apps and not a lot else.

It’s a government contract, I’m guessing this is what they replaced anything made by Huawei ? I believe that its a British company just made in Hong Kong

The fact that your thread gets read and no one bothers to reply gonna look for a better forum me thinks

I get the impression that the new tipo isn't very common, so probably not many owners. Then they are also fairly new, so there will be a lack of experience, combined with most newer cars dont have diy owners.

I know what you mean mate and thanks for reply. I’ve used forums for all my cars ie focus st170, Audi, and recently Astra gtc forum was good in someone having a bit of knowledge or advice. Have noticed a lot of threads Seen and no replies on here.

I’m presuming this is about the post in the satnav miscellaneous section, to be fair this area of the forum tends to be quite as enthusiasts hang around in their respective forums Punto, 500, tipo etc, you’re better posting their even if it is a natnav issue as someone with a tipo will reply to you rather than someone having to look specifically in the satnav section.

Also with your post being on Saturday and it being a very hot summer weekend at the begining of the summer holidays a lot of members will be out and about or on holiday right now.

No not just that thread and a lot of threads I’ve seen unanswered across the forum from other members in different sections.

Yes I have noticed recently how many there are too. Im not sure why this is. I think sat nav stuff is well beyond me these days. Im having a pile of trouble with waze spending its life trying to connect to something. Why its decided to go AWOL escpaes me. A wireless home phone stetches my tech these days.
