What's made you not grumpy but not smile either today?

Washed 3 cars this afternoon. All now clean and treated with Polarseal, but the bloody cold has set into my back!

Oof! Couldnt be bothered with 3 in one day no wonder you're suffering.

Only have mildly wrecked knuckles to show for my endeavours with having the fabric (i.e. salt and rust magnet) arch liners out to get in properly at the rear sill ends.

One of these days I'll get a nice lease and take it to a 5 pound hand-wash at the weekends instead.

Shopping trip today, only really needing small amount, mainly certain foods for the lad with little additives and little sugar. Passing a local baker of high renown on the way home, I stopped to purchase some goodies for the wife and I. :) I park up round a corner near a Post Office. Let’s just say it’s a less salubrious part of the city. No big deal but notice the hole in the wall money machine, the pavement below is just strewn with discarded receipts, fag ends and chewing gum, so much so it’s obvious from yards away, not a good advert for the area (n)

As I said no big deal, but you just know you have entered a dodgy part of the city, another giveaway is the odd drunk geezer at 8 30 in the morning. Makes me feel lucky with what I’ve got.:)

Reminds me of a time quite a few years ago, I arrived in Bristol, with no coins, and then needed to pay for car parking. I popped into a small branch of my bank, to get a bag each of £1, 20p and 10p and some notes. Waiting in the bank queue, there were two windows operating, the two customers knew each other, and the person ahead of me and the one behind, all looking a little scruffy. One was asking if their benefit money had gone into their account, the other was checking their balance. I was about to draw out, as pocket money, a greater amount than the two of them had together. Very poignant.
My turn at the window, I had to wisper my requirements, to save the other customers' embarrassment and partly for fear of being mugged on the way out. The cashier understood, and counted the money quietly, and passed the notes and coins very quietly to me.

Looking back at what a strange year this has been.

I've worked 4 different jobs
All on the same premises..

Spent months doing food shops for the 'locked in'...in 2 countries

Thankfully no personal losses through Covid.. but it has certainly been close enough

We did manage 1 Car meet though

Lets hope for a better 2021

Police were shoo-ing drivers off Dartmoor the other day. They were going up to look at the snow and getting stuck. It sounds a bit nanny state, but the narrow steep lanes would only need one idiot/unfortunate to block the road and hundreds could be stuck. Getting it clear would be a nightmare.
