I've seen a decent 100hp for sale at a good price but the C/L isn't working - what's the worst (highest cost) reason, and is this worst case scenario the most likely or is there a well known/easy problem?

In what sense? Just the remote? Key in door not operate it? Locking the drives door from the inside not work?

Ooops I forgot to check the full extent of the problem - the owner told me the C/L doesn't work and that he locks it with the key. I will have to ask him how this works - should using the drivers key in the door still operate the locks on the rest of the car?

You have, but its ok, all being well a Mod will move to Panda section

So, emailed the owner and he says the C/L works if you use the key in the door, it's just the remote buttons on the key that do nothing. He'stried a new battery to no avail - new key do you think? Would a new key have to be coded to the car? Expensive?

Does light flash on the current key? If so probably just needs recoding at main dealer (about £50 all in). Worst case scenario is suspect would be a replacement remote key, about £180 all in from main dealer.

I doubt it's the car itself tbh.
