Happy Yorkshire Day!

Thanks, Dom... -- as a half red-rose, half white-rose northerner, much appreciated! And the same to you...! (y)

I remember traipsing round Ilkley Moor -- and without a hat* -- in the pouring rain, singing this at the top of my voice, with a group of like-minded idiots. Those were t'days...! By 'eck; and bah gum. :)

*The worms haven't got me... -- yet...! :D

anLike Homeward, I am half white rose and half red rose.
Born in Lancashire, but moved as a baby to Yorkshire. Lived there until adulthood. After living down south moved back up to the "red" side of the country. So overall I am about equal.
When I was at school in South Yorks, I went on a coach trip to watch the test match at Old Trafford. I made the mistake of telling the lads that I had actually been born in Lancashire. It was a big thing in those days that Yorkshire was the only club that said that if you weren't born in Yorkshire you couldn't play for them.
Being magnanimous yorkshire school mates (!) they kept me on the floor of the coach in front of the back seat all the way to Manchester.
Having lived in both, I would have to say that it means more to a Yorkie than it does to a Lancy.
