Well i figured after getting a couple of replies already on this subject, it was worth starting a thread now.
There is no definate plan as yet, it's just a possibility and this thread is to discuss all the options we have, so any info on the subject is very welcome.

As it is, it's been established that next year (2006) will be too soon for some of us so the suggested plan so far is a FF convoy via the Euro Tunnel for the 2007 Monaco GP.

What we need are suggestions as to where we should stay etc and who are the possible runners :)

What do you mean possible runners?

I'm up for it definatly, and am prepared to spend time to help organise it, so lets see where this leads.

Nice one Alex (y)

Over the next few weeks we should all gather as much info as we can about it, because the sooner we can actually get something sorted then the more people we can get in on it. If we give everyone enough notice on this, it's gonna make it a bigger possiblity..

I am also well up for this so I'm gonna say i'm definately in.

Agreed. I'll pm you my contact details later... In the mean time. I'll find out where monaco is :p

Found it:

EDIT: Any moderators... perhaps make this a sticky?

Well i tried to find out the distance from Calais to Monte-carlo but Yahoo was useless for me. Looking at the map, it looks like it must be around 600 miles ?

Anyone know where the Euro tunnel comes out in france ?

We should also look at the cost. I don't mean to put a dampener on things but Monaco is very expensive plus you'd have to book in advance wouldn't you? But I'd be well up for it. (y)

Just had a look at the map. its over 68cm from paris to monte-carlo (68*10=680km) as the crow flies. and there is no direct rout. Its a long way, almost a years motoring for most people... An oportunity not to miss.

This is why were planning a few years ahead, it aint going to be cheap and people are going to have to save their pennies to do it.

Nice one Ben (y) I was waiting for you to come on ;)

Well according to Mappy, it's 777 miles from Calais, so quite a few miles of travelling and there are a number of toll roads totalling 87 EUR and thats not including the Channel tunnel.

Bens right about Monaco being expensive too, so we will need to seriously think about where we should stay or if some of us will be going our seperate ways once we arrive etc.

I think you got the scale wrong ;) 955 kms

Prices are likely to go in to orbit for the whole of the F1 weekend. Accommodation and its location are something we're going to have to focus on, since this is likely to be the most expensive part of the whole thing.

Probably... Its a shame they've not decided the 2007 calendar yet.

I'm probably going to get linched for this but what about camping. I'm sure I saw one on that holiday program once up in the hills of Monaco. Just an idea.

Release the hounds... At this stage I'm sure all suggestions will be considered.
