i found out about the grant that some councils are offering on the pass plus and thought it would be a good idea to do it as it would only cost me around £60.

So i got the number for staffs office off the net and rang them earlier. Only to be told i dont live in Staffordshire  When i asked the woman where i lived she said she wasnt sure!

My address is Staffs so why dont i live there?

Confused!

Has anyone else taken part in the pass plus scheme when they sponsor you?

Isn't £60 about right anyway?

I have my loan from the county council despite living in the city, I did tell them, they ignored my letter, when I went in and told them for an hour that they were wrong they agreed, then did nothing about it.

Only proof they had to show I was within where I said I was was the register to show how much subsidy I would get as a kid for school meals, great.

Bit odd if they can't tell you were you do live....

£60 without the grant? no its £150 if you do it off your own back around here.

i dont live in Birmingham!

She said she'd send me the information anyway and i'd have to find out for myself where i lived! lol...

Phone her and say "yep, i've just checked, I definitely live in Staffordshire since I have a staffordshire address, dumbass"

£150   You serious?!?!?! I paid £75 out of memory including him paying for lunch at a service station. Maybe they have latched onto what it can save you and started charging double then or maybe it's just you.

I couldn't see how my man made money from it, i think admin costs were £16, lunch £7 each, guessing £20 or so fuel, car depreciation, insurance etc. etc. 3-4 hours off work. Poor bloke was always cheap though, maybe I am just in a world of driving lessons of my own.

Chips and gravy?

Well i said 'my address is blah blah Lichfield, Staffordshire' she just replied with 'it doesnt mean you fall into our council area

Lol - this is 3 2 hour lessons - no lunch!

its charged at £25 per hour like a driving lesson :(

£25 per hour?! haha!

I paid £5/hour first 5 then £15 after that for a brand new 1.6 Corolla T-spirt with sat nav etc. The good life ;)

Corolla T-Spirit - the good life????? Maybe the corollas (1.4 T2, T3, T-Spirit, T-Sport) I've driven were just exceptionally bad examples.

Well i paid £21.50 to have lessons in my own car wasting my own petrol and insurance! What a con :)

Lora isn't from the west midalnds Paul, leave her alone about it please otherwise she will hit you, I guarantee it. She is in fact from Staffordshire and I know this because I used to live there too :p Where the bloke who wrote the first dictionary lived, so she's well proper spoken is our Lora ;)

havent heard of this scheme i paid £17.50/hour for lessons and he said he thinks the pass plus is a con so he'd charge me for 1 hour and £40 for certificate (£57.50) which aint bad but i just couldnt be bothered it only saved me £40 off my insurance lol...btw why the hell didnt you come to Stanford hall if you only live a few miles away????
