Fiat and Alfa romeo have faired very badly in this years JD power survey, not good news for fiat all round.

out of 116 different models of car 1 being the best 116 being the worst

the Alfa romeo Mito was 115th the Grande/punto Evo was 114th and the panda was 112th the the Giulietta was also poorly rated at 108.

in the manufactures line up out of 27 manufactures

Alfa Romeo was 26th and Fiat was 23rd

thats pretty poor all round the only redeeming result was the fiat 500 at 69th best car which is still a pretty bad result.

seems fiat have really dropped the ball seeing almost all their ratings drop compared to last year

Some of that will be the warranty, when others are giving 7 years Fiat are stuck at 2 that's not going to go down well in these cash strapped times.

Find it fishy the panda which as widely regarded as one of the most reliable if not the most reliable car they've ever built and shares its running gear and electrics mainly with the 500 is so poorly rated. Is this a survey where reliability counts or one where they get people to assign arbitrary ratings to speed and comfort e.t.c?

The JD Power survey has always been subjective and is based on perception rather than factual. Its also filled in by owners so a lot of Panda owners perceive that their car is not very good or when it does go wrong then the dealerships aren't very good (which we all know is true in some cases). I don't know how much weight is given to car or dealership, but that could influence the result massively.

Fiat don't seem to do badly in warranty company based surveys which measure number of claims per car and cost rather than is the dealer a knob and do I get beaten off the lights...audi, bmw and vw tend to get hammered in the warranty ones.
