For important mail I usually favour `recorded delivery’ – but for the last two drops the postie hasn’t bothered to knock for a signature & just pushed it thro letterbox with ordinary mail.

How common is this?

!

I once had one just put a sorry you was out card through the letter box without even knocking

I've got on my shop door "If out please deliver next door", still ignores it.

Then they just shove it through without walking in!

If I order laptop screens I have to get them delivered by a curiour because when he does come in he drops his bag on the floor outside!

Re: !

we forever get stuff pushed through the door which requires a signature, worst still with packages we get cards saying "we tried to deliver" when we've been in the house and they've not even knocked on the door. once i went after the postman who had just put a card through the door and he didn't even have the parcel !! in his words "it wouldn't fit in the bag so I didn't bring it"

the most ridiculous situation was a courier who put a £100 apple TV set top box in the bin outside the house on bin day without knocking on the door and the card wasn't found till much later in the day fortunately when i did find the package the bin lorry was about 50 yards down the road heading towards us.

basically the postal services in the UK are crap !

Re: !

my normal postman sings for me and puts through the door, i prefer that than having to go sorting office for it, it always stinks of BO in there.
when normal bloke is off the others just card me.
parcel force and some other couriers are worse they often sign for it and leave parcel outside an run, if it gets nicked they wont do any thing because some one has signed for it :nutter:
