Just curious as to whether anybody on here has owned a Mitsubishi Evolution, regardless of year.

If so, how old before you could get insured on one.

I'v read on parkers that the insurance group is 44, so pretty high, but just curious.

Btw, not looking to get one now that would be careless and silly, but for the future maybe.

Thanks in advance!
Sam

edit: reading the reviews on these on parkers and they sound amazing, other than servicing costs, oh and tax at around £460!!!

I used to work with I guy who imported a 1993 first edition evo the problem with importing being they are restricted to something like 115mph (which I removed for him) and the speedometer only goes up to that lol

He paid £5k in 2005 for a car which was 12years old which was just silly money!

The biggest problem with these big turbo small displacement engines is they do tend to be pretty unreliable

Just had a look at confused, even at 31 with 3 years no claims it's still £2.5k insurance for me!

£491 for me :slayer:

Still, I won't be getting one any time soon. Or in fact, ever.

Edit: £315 for a 2002 Alfa 156 1.6 ..... WTF?

standard ones aren't really that fast (in a straight line) in the grand scheme, its just the way they go around corners.. My old cinq turbo could keep up with one (in a straight line) upto 100-110mph, and was a hell of alot more exciting haha. Perhaps not the newer ones now they aren't power limited like all older jap cars were... Is it 276bhp they all used to be limited to?
