Car owners fined for litter thrown by passengers

Car owners fined for litter thrown by passengers

Sounds perfectly fine to me.

If you're the sort of gombine that would carry morons that chuck their McDonalds packaging out the window then you deserve all you get.

Fine the driver, and the passenger, lest the driver forces the passenger to get out and pick it the f*ck up.

My passengers don't but if they did how would I stop them exactly..?

My concentration is on driving, not that much on what my passengers are doing.

Erm...tell them? It's your car, after all, you are responsible for everything that goes on inside it.

Oh, cool.

"Your honour, I was concentrating on driving, so how can you ask me to accept some form of responsibility for the murder my passenger happened to commit whilst in the passenger seat of my car?"

Too many slopy shoulders these days. I 100% back this. Littering is a scummy, scummy thing to do.

:)The law is the law you are responsible for your mates whilst in your car even when they do act out of manner the blame is passed on to you and plus its money from fines to clean the place up how would you like it if someone chucked rubbish on your garden :slayer:

Telling people does naff all. If my niece did it yeah I would accept some sort of responsability but if my mum did it why the hell should I? I moan at her for throwing the fag ends out of her own car, how would me telling her not to do it make any difference whatsoever..?

Bit far fetched about the murder wasn't it...

Not sure about the wording of this.
Give a drunk mate a lift home in his car and he litters, then he has littered from his car yet you get the fine.

Exactly.

I think it would only apply to the owner, not if a 3rd party were driving it Venters. That would be a tad harsh.

So my dad borrows my car and throws something out while I'm not there and I get fined for it? How is that fair?

Your mum would be a rather large cretin, then, both littering and getting her son fined at the same time. She sounds awesome.

YES. That is exactly fair. YOU are responsible for YOUR car. If you want to let somebody that is going to commit a crime in it drive YOUR car, then YOU should be held accountable.

Are you being purposely difficult?

No, just voicing an opinion and debate on what I think...;)

So why if dad speeds in my car and is caught, why am I not fined for that too?

What else could I do then, reach over and pull it out of their hands? Risk a crash?

Dom

It's easy stop the car and tell them to GTFO and pick it up! Dont care if it's your elderly gran there's no excuse for littering. If you don't notice it but get a fine in the post ask the offending person for the cash. If you've got a group of people in the car and no-one admits it tell them to all stump up, if they don't pay then don't let them in your car (y)

Of course there's not excuse for littering I just don't see how someone can be fined for something they haven't done lol.

What about on the Motorway though?

It's simple that's life. I've been fined twice by the DVLA for something I didn't do, but as the owner of the car in question I was forced to take responsibility for it, I will not make the same mistake again and trust any car with the person that caused me the problem. I will however do everything I can for the rest of my life to make sure it's known they are not honest they are untrustworthy and don't deserve any future custom.

As for the motorway you probably can't do much about it, I would imagine the chances of being caught are fairly slim.

No, because there wasn't any.

Amusing how you've realised it was a stupid thing to say and tried to pawn it off as sarcasm though.

Did you not see the ""? I thought I'd make it more obvious for you..

It was sarcasm because I believe my attention should be on the road, not pissing about with passengers in the back.
