Re: What's made you grumpy today? (Part II)

Little bit of snow last night..all fine but as I was clearing the windscreen dropped some ice into the drivers side power fold mirror.

Didn't notice until I pressed the button to operate them and it moves a cm then stopped..the ice now wedged..didn't have time to thaw it out so had to set off and naturally as I pulled into work car park out she folded..

Re: What's made you grumpy today? (Part II)

Range Rover (full registration "87 T") cutting in front of me, then brake-testing me when I blew my horn. He/she damn nearly caused an accident.

At junction 16 of the M4, I was coming from Swindon direction to turn right at the Spittleborough Roundabout to join the M4 westbound.
I arrived at the traffic lights onto the roundabout before the range rover (so no previous interaction of any sort) and I chose the left-hand of the two turning right lanes. range rover pulls up in the right hand lane. We both keep to our lanes as we go around the roundabout, stopping at 3 or 4 sets of traffic lights. There are two turning right / M4West lanes all the way round. I have my right-hand indicator on for a good part of this time. When the last set of lights change to green we both set off side-by-side down the two lane slip-road onto the M4, then for no apparent reason the range rover darts forwards and cuts in less than a car length in front of me; I toot to indicate my annoyance and my presence; brain-dead range rover driver brakes, causing me to brake hard to avoid a crash, then drives on. He tootles off at 80+.

Why are so many range rover drivers idiots ?

Does anyone know the driver of "87 T" ? If so, give them a kick from me.

(PS I was in the Panda, so he/she was probably jealous.)

Given Land Roverís reliability even in the present day he was probably just checking they still work at all!!! lol

Re: What's made you grumpy today? (Part II)

Loading up 12 sq/m of floor onto the back seat of the Citroen to find the despite checking it would when I put the first pack in the doors wouldn't shut..the 1st pack had fluked in missing the arm rest both sides..however the door was now about 5mm short of closing. I then had to heft it all back out and re pack through a folded seat..

Today's learning would be..despite looking too short it's actually perfect length for laminate loaded from the back..but not across ways..also laminate gets heavy after you've loaded and reloaded it 3 times..

Broke my locking pliers - had set them a wee bit too tight to put a caliper spring back on - damned thing sheared and hit me in the head with enough force to send me backwards

Good reminder to always wear eye protection when working on the car. A flying spring or high pressure fuel or coolant leak can easily blind you. Having had a foreign object removed from an eye (many years ago, debris from a motorcycle hitting a lampost near by and no permanent damage) I can tell you it is no fun. You can even get safety eyewear these days so there is no excuse.

I need this in day to day life - managed to do the same just opening our garage door.
Spring flew off, sounded like a gunshot nearly took my damn eye out.

My mother-in-law has been rushed into hospital seriously ill. So my brother-in-law who still lives at home at 30 and doesn't pay rent, spends all evening putting selfies of himself on the p1ss on facebook.

New low even for that idle ****.

Re: What's made you grumpy today? (Part II)

I'm on this forum because I own and like Fiats. I'm not on any other forums because I don't own any other cars, only my Grande.

What's the point of people being on here if they haven't owned a Fiat for several years, and don't intend to own 1 in the near future?! Especially if they aim insults at anyone on here who dares to be enthusiastic about Fiats on the Fiat Forum...
