Re: What's made you smile today? (Part II)

Got a little connected car thing free as part of my breakdown cover through work.

Does the usual of connecting to the OBDII port and reading error codes which tbf don't particularly care about much at this point as I don't have any. But it will actively monitor them and let me know..and also my breakdown cover know should any showstoppers appear. All it's told me so far is "Battery healthy".

My main reason for attaching it..you can track your car from a button on your phone. So if it's nicked you can see where it currently is, also if someone says hey you hit me pay up and you weren't there...you can prove you weren't there.

They're just hoping you'll move out soon, so they can rent the room?

Re: What's made you smile today? (Part II)

I haven't driven my Punto since I put her up for sale. On the way to collect the new owner from the nearest train station I wanted to do my usual checks and stopped at my local petrol station to give the tyres a once over.

I had to sit and wait at the side because an Audi TT was parked in the Air/Water bay, and waited, and waited, and waited. The whole time no movement from the TT or whoever was sat in the drivers seat.

So I pulled up behind it and boxed it in there.

Took my dust caps off, set the PSI I wanted and as I put 50p in the compressor the drivers door opens and an upset TT owner got out and had a go for me parking in his way.

I pointed to the sign and said...

"See that sign there? It says Air and Water not park here and check your grinder app'. I've had to sit there waiting for you. Now you are going to have to wait for me".

...one of the guys from the petrol station arrived as Mr TT threatened to call the Police if I didn't move out of the way. The petrol station guy said he would have to go off site as using mobile phones on a forecourt is dangerous.

I wish my tyres were flat so it took longer but only one was 1PSI out. As I left casually as ever the forecourt attendant waved and gave me a thumbs up.

The guys from the petrol station have had enough. People go to the McCraphole next door and use their spaces and forecourt to eat and dump their rubbish on the floor.

any normal person would have just politely asked if you could use the air pump and if they wouldn't mind moving. In that respect you were very much the bad guy in this situation, as you didn't even give him the opportunity to move. Yeah you waited, doesn't mean he saw you.

Re: What's made you smile today? (Part II)

That's a fair point but I was waiting long enough to think of what to say grinder if it was a chap and Martial Affairs if it was a woman. The whole time (a good five minutes) he sat in his TT.

Of course he had no idea anyone was waiting. Most Audi drivers have no idea what's going on around them on a good day let alone when they are parked in the way for no apparent reason.

Anyone seen the pilot for the new Ed China show? It's on that there You Tube. Quite good I thought. I don't really think a show like that has been done before. None of the fake profit rubbish from Mockney Geezer and a more of the stuff that made Wheeler Dealers interesting. Hope it gets commissioned, with a bit of a tweak it'll make an interesting show.

So plenty of time you could have politely asked, instead you spent you clearly not very valuable time trying to think up funny insults

I believe the term would be “Dick move” on your part not his.

Just finished watching it, seems canny though bit of a hostage to fortune regards where it will go. Depending on how wide he casts his net can't quite imagine he'll be tripping over mainly finished cars that just need a few bolt on bits to finish.
