yes

how much diesel do you see spilled on country lanes... how much ice will you find on said lanes?

go find an industrial estate... see how much ice/diesel is over these roads... infact anywhere with a high volume of HGV/PSV traffic will be more succeptable to diesel spillage, just as more exposed areas (country roads and singular roads without much traffic and/or infrastructure nearby) will be more succeptable to ice

A689 at Wolviston.

Approaching from the East, if the road is damp it's like a skating rink. I've had my Bravo with decent tyres, and ESP at least 40 degreed to the direction of travel as the rear end swapped ends coming off this roundabout. Likely cause - HGVs filling up at the Shell station in the background. It's one of the few HGV friendly service stations around here.

Oh look a large Shell filling station in the back ground that takes HGV's..... ;)

I really think this is a huge factor and the main areas where Diesel is spilt

Yes....... Locally there is three roundabouts in a row which are horrendous, there is a chemical plant and a 3 filling stations and a couple of HGV yards A agricultural repair unit. with in a 3 mile stretch 2 of filling stations are favourite for HGVs they brim their tanks and enter the roundabouts and the fuel slops out of the breather... In summer couple that with the amount of tonnage polishing the tarmac and rubber scuffing off tyres then add a shower of rain....

Fair point. Didn't think of that. Never noticed it here though.

God, looking at that road I see what you mean. I did find the national speed limit sign directly across the road from a painted slow sign amusing though.
