Well If im honest and you can pay it back (without causing difficulty) go for it.

I too was in a bad situation with the beemer. I'd spent all my savings buying it, taxing, MOT and insurance etc so was left with nothing but £100 or so in my current account with 3days till payday. Then it started braking down (crank sensor & radiator!) so I needed to come up with £300 and it was only 3days till payday so I got a wonga loan. Without my car I don't earn any money so I'd loose in the region of £150 a day by not working! :(.

Paid it back on payday and never looked back. Don't think i'd ever use them again unless it was a real emergancy like that.

Anything to weigh in?
When i was flat on my bum, i cleared my garage and outside of all metal, took it the scrap yard and got £65, just an idea

I'm usually good with my budgeting but as some of you may (or may not) know my car was involved in an accident. It was up for sale at the time and I had arranged to use the money from the sale to buy a new one. However, the accident happened and as I'd already agreed to pay for the new one and had put a deposit down I had to commit, meaning it put me around £600 out of pocket. This has had a knock on effect and put me in the situation I am in now.

I have thought of most of these suggestions, some of them are just not possible (like weighing things in, I have nothing like that to get rid of). It literally is a last ditch option.

Oh and £50 isn't just for food, I need petrol to get to and from work otherwise I would be losing out so £20 went towards that, and I'm feeding 2 (me and my girlfriend, she has no access to money because her bank card is snapped and is on placement all week). It really is messed up but come payday I should be on the right tracks.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I appreciate it.

Go for it dude. For the sake of £8 interest it's bloody worth it to get over the worry! (y)

A lad I know has conned them out of hundreds, not sure how he does it but I've been out with him when he's ran out of money, went on his phone and got another £50 guess he has nothing to loose as he has nothing and generally doesn't give a f**k, got no sympathy for wonga though!

Haven't they (wonga) heard of Equifax? :p

wellsy, your gf should still be able to draw money out while waiting on a new card if she goes into her bank with ID and answers some questions.

Yeah we were going to do that but she is on placement from 7am until 6pm so the banks are shut when she's available. No worries now it's done, I didn't see £8 interest too bad if I'm honest :)

I think it was Martin Lewis from the money saving expert site who came up with this, but if you borrowed £100 form wonga and didn't pay it back, after 10 years your debt would be larger than the entire USA budget deficit

Instead of 7am 'til 6pm, can't you send the GF out 7pm 'til 6am pole dancing or something? Clear the overdraft in no time!
Seriously, being broke is very stressfull.Especially when kids are involved as well.
Good luck, and keep a very tight ship for a few months to get some fat back in the system.(y)

I very much doubt he has conned anybody out of anything. They just keep letting him get in more and more debt with them.
