While the Seicento is resting getting ready for some work being done an imported 2002 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini is getting me around flawlessly :D

@jenks69 - do you do much offroading in your Landy? Now that I've got 4WD I fancy getting it muddy :slayer:

It's always off road...... being or waiting to be repaired

There's not that many legal places to just go and "off road" any more. There's a few green lanes scattered about the country (often kept a secret). However easyish to find with a bit of hunting green lanes are called BOATS (by way open to all traffic) which means anyone can drive on them, they are however generally rough tracks and in theory not that challenging. All councils have a land map which will clearly show these BOATS - however in some cases you've got to visit the council office and request to view it.

If you can get out to Salisbury plain (probably too far) there are days when the MOD allow civies on it to play. There's also a lot of "pay and play" sites about where you pay a small fee then you can be faced with the most challenging of terrain, and there's normally someone there with a tractor or unimog etc to pull you out if you get stuck.

Local 4wd clubs are your best bet for local knowledge and they often organise trips out to pay and play sites for reduced fees, they'll often have someone who can access the local council info easily and know the legal routes etc.

I've never been to a pay and play site as I've converted the landy to a camper with cooker sink TV etc etc so don't ever want to go wading deeper than the tub floor. (On large wheels with a 4inch lift so can get most places without problems :slayer:

We have quite a few cars in our household, probably too many! As it stands today:

1988 Panda 4x4 Sisley
1993 Panda CLX
1984 Land Rover Series 3
2004 Land Rover Defender 90
1972 Fiat 500
2002 Piaggio Ape 50
1966 Mini Van
1932 Austin 7
1988 Renault 5
2002 VW Lupo
2006 Alfa 147
2008 Fiat Doblo

Panda 1.3MJ and Alfa 156 2.0 Veloce. Then there's a 1984 Bedford TM tractor unit with a 9 litre 366 bhp Detroit Diesel turbocharged and supercharged V6 2-stroke diesel. Then there are various works vehicles which include a couple of SWB Transits, a Transit Connect, a Fiesta, 4 Discoveries a pair of Freelanders and a brace of armour-plated Land Rover Defenders.

I have to admit that only the first two are actually on our drive but the Bedford belongs to a mate of mine and is almost identical to one I used to drive 25 years ago and the others are all "firm's" vehicles.

Oops, almost forgot my '92 Yamaha FJ1200.

Would love the celica :yum:

You can pick up a Gen 6 cheap nowaday... my bum's being riding them for 11 years, and are brilliant! No electrics except for mirrors and windows - proper old school :)
