Went out for a drive last night in my mates '99 Corsa B and we decided to go into a Village near where I live called "Sapperton". This village is tiny! I mean like 3 houses and thats it. Anyway.. Sapperton is like the Bermuda Triangle in the way all the roads link back to each other and they all look the same. So its pretty much impossible to get out of once you get in.
As we entered the village it started getting foggy.
So foggy in fact that we couldnt see the kerb by the edge of the road and corners were pretty much impossible!

We pulled over and got out after 10 minutes of trying to navigate around the twists and turns of Sapperton. We walked back in to wards "the Sapperton suspicious book exchange" ( old phone box rigged with shelves of old books) and as we got close we came across a clear fog-free patch.

It was about a 10m straight of the road that was clear as day! We spent ages trying to work out what had caused this to happen. We suspect it was something to do with temperature or wind or something. We wernt sure.

As we turned to leave.... One thing that scared the living S**t out of us.... a single fox stood in the middle of the road staring at us. Right on the edge of the fog-less patch.

If any one has any idea as to what caused this phenomemon (forgive my spelling) then let me know as we will be returning there tonight to see if it happens again.

Cheers
Tom

And there I was thinking it has something to do with radiative cooling of a water vapour saturated air mass leading to fog condensing out but the "Fox fog of death" sounds like a more plausible explanation :D
