I believe it's a case of I'm alright sod you Jack. It's so when there are plenty of street lights they can see

As for head lights out, either they are like me and can not find the wiring fault, or they are ignoring the light to tell them a bulb is out.

i dont think alot of people realise that the path ahead is dark either.....

I saw a woman come into work, i told her she had a light out
first thing she said was

What do i do?

:bang:

I mean come on! read the cars manual - it tells you how todo it!

i fobbed her off to the local halfords store - she can pay for an overpriced bulb and a stupid amount to fit it as well :)

What bugs me is people who sit in traffic jams with their foot on the brake pedal blinding the person behind with their megawatt high level brake light.

Use the bloody handbrake FFS

I saw a police car with only 1 light working. Citizens arrest anyone? :)

I'm suprised other cars don't seem to have the same warning system for lights being out that Fiat have. Fiats have had bulb failure indicators since the tipo.. over 20 years ago!

Had a few niggling problems with the front lights on Mrs. Beard's Alfa which after much faffing about turned out to be simply the holders not gripping the bulbs properly, probably because it's 10 years old now.

I told S.W.M.B.O (She Who Must Be Obeyed) that I'd fixed the problem at immense physical discomfort as there are some sharp edges under the front panel on a 156. Actually one of the mechanics at work did all the grubbing about, I just claimed the Brownie Points.

Frustration set in because the tell-tale on the dash that highlights that a bulb has failed was staring me in the face, mocking me actually. I couldn't work out which bulb it was. I eventually worked out that it was a number plate light which on the 156 are positioned under the bumper and because it was daylight I hadn't noticed. Sometimes it's easier just to be ignorant.

When we were on our hols in Italy this year, one of the group, bit of a know-it-all actually, pointed out that a Police car, a Bravo in this case had a light out. One of the problems of being a self-confessed smarta**e is that you need to be right all the time.

Mrs. Beard saw me rise to the challenge and raised a warning eyebrow, which in fairness is usually all it takes to bring me back under control and my dander, previously up, settled back down as I resisted the urge to tell him about the fog/driving lights in the bumper that light up on one side or the other at corners.

Mind you, I got him a few weeks later as he asked me about the car that often parked outside his gates when he was trying to get in and out. I told him that it would be a case of Unnecessary Obstruction and he should phone the Police.

One day he returned from work to find the offending Nissan parked outside his gates and was promptly on the blower to the Old Bill. A Traffic car arrived and as Colin launched into a tirade about falling Police standards and why you can never find a Copper when you want one; which if I'm honest, was a bit of a mistake actually. The Sergeant calmly pointed out that the offence of Unnecesary Obstruction, in this case, was only proven if a) he was trying to get out of his drive rather than in, and b) if there was a dropped kerb, which there wasn't.

"And while I think of it, stop wasting my time. I've got more important things to do."

Which all goes to show that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing[/I]
