Do these things get ruined pretty quickly when you drive on tarmac?

If you do a (fairly typical) journey consisting of side road > gritted A road > side road then do you need to remove them after reaching the A road, then put them back on before the side road? If so then I'm tempted not to bother and stay in bed instead.

I'd also be concerned about what effect they have on braking/handling on tarmac. Presumably they're much slippier than rubber.

Like Snow chains - Snow socks should be used same i believe

You keep going till you get stuck, or traction is Soo poor that Chains/socks will benifit you

Soon as you are clear - ie onto a gritted road - you need to remove them

why would you want to keep them on when you get to the A road? they're just a way of getting you up a snowy hill

Either yes but price will go up or they sell out as soon as snow hits or someone buys loads and then sticks them on eBay when the snow hits.

try where you are now, i think ours ran out because all them people who live up the roads off the side of the northern approach road couldn't get up their roads last winter, so they all went in an bought them.

nearest asda is tiny so prolly wont do them i will have to ring up, if they do have some i can pick you a set up if you like?

i cant wait for the one there building in worcester to finish
