just after some advice really.

been selling some parts off my astra as the HG blew.

someone bought the tailgate, i ordered the collection and delivery myself through parcel2go as i've used them for years and they're normally ok.

on the form when you're saying what the item is, it will automatically match whatever you've types against the list of prohibited items, i typed in car tailgate and all was fine.

the bloke came today and wouldn't take it because car bonnet's are prohibited, emailed them too and apparently it's classed as a bumper which they also don't take.

would anyone else be confused.. you're sending a tailgate, it lets you enter that, you check the prohibited items to see bonnets and bumpers aren't allowed but it doesn't mention doors/tailgates etc.

gutted now as it's a load of grief i don't need :(

from the online chat:

Alex: are car doors allowed?
Andrea: Can you give me a minute or two to look into this for you?
Alex: yes
Andrea: Car Batteries
Andrea: Car Bonnet
Andrea: Car Bumper are prohibited
Alex: car doors?
Andrea: Car Doors & Car Panels can only be carried on a no compensation basis on any service.
Andrea: Any person sending such an item does so at their own risk:
Andrea: Covered for loss but not possible damage
Alex: but the tailgate is off a hatchback car, hatch back car's are 5 door cars, the hatch being the 5th door so technically it's a door. not a bumper or a bonnet

When I used them to sell my turbo, I entered 'turbocharger' and they told me it was prohibited. So then I entered 'forced induction car part' and everything was ok ;)

That's frustrating though, I would definitely complain to someone higher. Write a letter to head office saying how they've inconvenienced you. It really is no different to a car door, I'd expect them not to want to carry car doors since they have glass in them

all sorted,

Dave they're so cheap it's unreal, they use my hermes too.

got my side skirts sent up from portsmouth for £7 even a full SS system for £8.

all sorted now though, she agreed it was a door and was therefore fine, apologised and re-done the collection, annoying though my printer has ran out of ink so i need to go to the library..again :(

well, they never showed today after wrongly refusing to collect the tailgate, not impressed.

first time i've used yodel via parcel2go and i can only recommend everyone avoids them at all costs.

that's funny, yodel didn't show for me either and I had a massive hassle rearranging for delivery because I was busy. I was scared at first because I'd never heard of them and I thought they'd scammed me

If I'd have known it was Yodel I'd have told you ages ago to go elsewhere, they're f'king useless - spent 3 weeks trying to deliver my lowering kit - when they eventually managed it (after countless 'attempts')the package had written on it "road to narrow" (their spelling mistake, not mine). If the binmen can get down our cul-de-sac I dare say your little Sprinter can make down here as well you lazy turd.

Like I say parcel2go have been fine since I started using them in 2006 after beau told me about them, first time with yodel and they majourly messed up, got back onto parcel2go and they arranged citylink next day to take it, they were here at 8am and took it no problems, got there the next day too :) i'll use parcel2go again but I'll avoid yodel like the plague.

my hermes are about as cheap as it gets
no customer services and small car owner drivers

My package has taken 5 days to get from Bristol to Nuneaton about 110 miles. Its still got another 30 miles before it gets to me here in Wolverhampton.

If I'd have known it would take them this long to deliver it I would have driven down to Bristol and fetched the bloody thing myself.

parcel2go/myhermes are so slow delivery should be free. :p
