Well today, with it being such a nice day we decieded to take the cars out. Me in my cinq (with its new throttle body), chris in his 1242 sei (with its new dampers and chip) and viv in his smart car. We headed up towards lancaster, and then toward the trough of bowland before heading up to beacon fell and then back toward home through st michaels. Covered around 100mile, had great fun blasting down the country lanes.

No real hairy moments, although I did breath in when meeting other cars coming the other who we were too scared to move over.

I did hurt my car a bit tho :( She skimmed the floor a few times, and twacked the floor once which scared the crap outta me. And a van forced me right over the road, and as i slowed my injector light began flashing and then locked on. So i eased off completly and it began flashing again, as the revs hit idle - the car cut out totally and took a few turns to get it going again. It then wouldnt idle for the next few miles but by the time i'd caught chris and viv up, it was fine again.

So, yeah - all in all a mighty fun day :D heres some pictures

ditto I had a dat out as well From Stockport thro Lymm and then Brinnington and finished at GOYT Valley was cool 100 mils ish as well

today, i had motorway miles... cruising at 80 at 5kish revs drinking petrol must've got such bad mpg... then filled up and slipstreamed with 2 lorries at 70, and i swear 90 miles later my petrol gauge was literally on the same it was when i first left petrol station (half full so not because i overfilled by miles lol)

think i used just under half a tank, as did chris - where as viv used his whole tank (ickle 22l tank!)

Interestingly, when we stopped at one point my car said we'd done 56miles, chris' 52miles and vivs 53.5miles

yeah, lost his old one on ballam (the only corner on it!) at around 70mph. Trashed the wheels, steering rack, suspension, dif and gearbox.

shame really, yellow smart in the middle would look better!

the way i can corner with my car makes his driving look like theres an OAP behind the wheel.

I remeber him saying u all went out on the roads one time, not one of you could drive back then by the sounds of it :p ;)

more careful.. erm, nah not really. Hes not as keen on the twisty bits but the new one is getting some wonga spent on it.

That seems a whole 1000rpm up on what the 1242 says its doin at that speed. Seems to sound a lot more thats all.

Those photos arc have done well not to show all the dirt on all the cars.

Did a check of the milage just before i left yours. IIRC: 92 for me 94 for viv and 101 for you

The smartie is funny, it corners on three wheels if you try too hard to make it change direction

yea, the cars were filthy. Vivs was splattered in mud from when i lost grip in some mud moving the car. teehee.

Mine has nice clean spots on the passenger side door where laura was kneeling next to it!

Mileage is slightly odd! I should've sussed out how to make the sat nav record the trip too.

Hazel (the smart) does corner comdey style. like bambi learning to walk.

Re revs chris, alex's is a mk2 - i think the box is different.

along the lines of a new turbo, charge cooler, 6pot brakes, race cam, custom map

Why? correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the smart car a chic city car? If you want a fast car buy a car that was designed that way in the first place!! IMHO at least, I'm sure someone can correct me.

why bother buying a coupe and modding it? spend the money on something faster. second hand scooby maybe?
A second hand scooby for the price of a second hand coop will win in a 0-40mph race. Then the coop reels it in - too much power loss through 4WD. Outran an STi in mine without too much bother. Scoobys also look japanese, especially inside - they're not too different from my Primera!. Besides, scoobys are clit cars, as every c*nt's got one.
