Yep, I am after some sympathy!

Thought I was doing really well, on top of work and flying through, about to leave myself with only a piece of maths cwk to do and start on my next lab report (meant for over easter) - it means I can probably go to the lakes this weekend.

Then just as I was leaving a tutorial/lecture, my friend was asking the lecturer a couple of questions and he asked how well our cwk for him was going on. I smiled and said "finished :D". He was happy with me, but I did say (no idea where it came from) "Just to clarify, on this part I am right in doing...." "no, you're not, whoops, I really should have been clearer on that, one extra word would have done it wouldn't it?" *cries* "Yes!"

That took around 6-8 hours to do, I now literally have to rework the whole bloody thing = 4 hours+, also more likely to make mistakes now as I change certain bits and possibly forget others. No sorry, just a "maybe should have been clearer".

So I had used error bound instead of actual error (it said error and made much more sense to be error bound not actual error)! :( :(

So yeah, I am pissed off!!!

lol, hehe thank you.

Blasted lecturer being typical lecturess in the way he writes anything pretending we can work out he meant something that if he had read would have meant the opposite!

Well finished a different piece nearly now so can go back and fix the mess if i can.

*slaps Paul repeatedly with a large dead fish*

Feel better? No? Ah well, I tried. :D

I feel you pain tho, last week I found out that the maths I'd done for my design project (which I really really need to do well in following my w**k exam results  ) was all complete and utter toss, so I have spent several hours between Friday and today re-doing it all i.e. full algabraic derivations then loads of tedious calculations using those equations. If my tutor says it's wrong tomorrow I may well put my head through his office window :( :nutter:

****ING HELL.

I JUST DELETED MY LAST 2 HOURS OR SO OF WORK.

i had 2 documents open, thought i was closing one and not a different one. "Save?" "no"

:( Not my day.

Don't forget to breathe Paul....maybe ingest some caffiene :)

Everything is ok, Bright Side of The Road just came onto MOJO!

The world's best feel good song (excluding cheese).

Might have to put the CD on repeat when it finishes.

I would normally have laughed at myself but for some reason it hadn't save loads :( Obviously clicking no deleted all the auto saves?

This is what you get for boasting to everybody how much you have done.

All sympathy I felt before just evaporated. :p

I know I deserved it but dammit!

See most still have:

Numerical Methods (what I have got to redo)
Lab report (biggie)
PEF - time consuming
Maths (done 2/5 of)

So I was happy to have done all that but the maths, yet I haven't! :(

meh. Just found out I have some drama competitions this week :bang: I haven't even chosen a passage yet for the memorised prose on wednesday....may skip that one. Argh. :(

Looks like all the work I haven't done yet will just have to stay undone just a little bit longer.

You can set microsoft stuff to autosave every couple of mins - which is good because I would have lost a lot of work that way otherwise!

Rich, if you read above, I do have it autosaving but I think if you click "no" when you leave it wipes those autosaves as it thinks you never intended to save changes. Autosave does help if the comp crashes but I was a total idiot by clicking no.

Anyway, I think I have sorted it now :)

oops. Does it really not save the autosaves what a stupid system.

I am just guessing that that's the case, i suppose it should be if you click "no" to save, if you had made changes then changed your mind, you might click no, you wouldn't want the autosaves taking affect? I am not sure.

Anyway, I lost loads of work so I am guessing the autosaves didn't work or mine didn't.

paul, I have sympathy with you. I did the same. I was doing some coursework, and was really please that I had the correct answer, and my calculations were spot on... and then I re-read the question, and had just proved the example :( so had to go back and re-work the calculations for the question (which was actually a completely different calculation) and re-write the 8 page (yes count'em bitches - although mostly code, and graphs) report

REALLY PAUL...i have no sympathy for you, cant believe you didnt save your work...*runs to save work that she has been doing since 5pm! and hasnt saved since she started * :p

kidding hope its all going ok now. (y)

See I wouldn't be so mad if i had misread I guess but I took it how it was, error = error bound, but no, error = analytical error all of a sudden! Now word is being a bastard in its formatting. About half way through now, 4 hours estimate for the reworking will be good. He admitted it himself that it was a mistake.

Everything I did was perfect for the question 99% of people on my course will take it as...not for him though.

Shut it tashy.... I am not in the mood :p

oh well, at least you have an advantage over the others... so you can still act superior.
