Hey...
Been a while since ive been on here actually lol..Mainly Due to the fact that im always out driving the Sei...IVE PASSED and ended up with 4 minors so i was pretty pleased with it.Car's going really well but she seriously needs a clean now.So at last all the waiting is over for me lol
NEXT GOAL:Alfa Romeo 147 Hopefully by the end of the year
But WILL be sad to see the Abarth Go....

Congrats dude! I got 4 minors too(y) (i think! might be 3, 99.999% sure it is 4 though).

You can't get rid of the Sei!!! Have you checked out insurance for a 147 at your age and with such little experiance? might get a shock.

Cheers...
Yeh im am just hoping to get myself a 147 but i'm gonna have to be seriously tight with my spending again..I'm doing the Pass Plus soon so that will help and it will be under my dads name......Like i said it wont be till the end of the year really but still i cant wait.
The Sei is still a wicked car to drive though,Treats me really well..Went for a day out to bristol yesterday and she did well on the motorway fair play..
Ive named her Fabrica lol

cool, how did you decide the name? when i got it, the girls at work named it. they chose the names and narrowed it down to buttercup, custard and spongebob. lol.

its not worth putting yourself in a tight situation moneywise though if the Sei does what you need from a car.

Helz is right. Im paying quite a hefty price on my first policy at the mo but i've already done some research and when I get my next one with 1 yr NCB it will plummet. Then after that i'll be 21 with 2yrs NCB (fingers crossed!) and it drops considerably again. Try and get on your own policy first before bigger cars. It is worth it in your pocket in the long run.

Buttercup lol..cool
We were just driving along and i came up with it thinking about what Fiat stands for and thougt it would actually be a pretty cool name...
Well i dont want to keep the car for anymore than a year anyways,She is losing money as we speak and youve gotta climb the ladder not go down..I am actually on target for an Alfa by the end of the year and that is the only car that intrest's me for the next motor as Fiat are doing so badly i would'nt go for another one at the Moment. Not the biggest fan of the Stilo.Insurance these days is seriously expensive for us Young driver obviously because of those Chavs you see everywhere braking the speed limit,So it only makes sence to go under my dads name untill i am a bit older and have a bit of no claims,My plan was to have my car under my own name and work some no claims but the price was so expensive there was no point...The older Punto to the current model was a smart car though so thats a possiblity but the Alfa is visualy stunning.

You don't get NCB as a named driver....something to consider.

All cars lose money, an Alfa will lose double your Sei.

I'm with Paul. Don't say we didn't warn you! hehe.

The Sei's deppreciation at this point in time will level out very well due to many factors which I really can't be arsed to type cuz its late.

my friends car is called Buttercup (hers is a Nissan Micra though :yuck: no offence to anyone) and mine is called Bubble (VW Polo :yuck: dunno why im here really!!!) and my other friends is called Mojo Jojo (pergeot (sp???) 206 :yuck: ) we are going for the whole powerpuff girls theme...damn we're cool

Yeh thats right insurance is a serious rip off.But i didnt fancy paying £1800 to insure my Sei...No thank you. Thanks for the advice but the Sei is gonna go as soon as i got the bread make way for a RED Alfa 147...Nice

You will be able to beat £1800, more like £1000 if you shop around. Your alfa, assuming you buy new, will probably lose £4k+ in the first year of ownership!

If you're thinking it gets cheaper as you get older, well it does a bit but not enough to make it worth your while. My first year in my 1.2 at 23 years old cost me £750, but I had quotes up to £1500. I think if I had asked for insurance on an Alfa or other high powered car they would have laughed down the phone at me

I'm not so convinced about the whole get-your-own-insurance thing. Personally I have to be a named driver anyway but even nif that wern't the case I'd still not necessarily get my own policy. On a 147 even more so but on my newish punto, at 17/18 I was looking at £1600 to get insured - as it is I pay £250 and that's for me and both parents.

My point is that although I'm not getting a no claims discount, I've been doing it this way since I was 17 and next year I'm 21, by which time the premium will be much less anyway. When I'm over 21 I won't be looking at anywhere near that 16 hundred even with no NCB, and in the meatime I'm saving 13 hundred pounds a year!
